These are pictures from last year, I thought you might be blessed as Passover will soon be here. Someone mentioned that their church did a passover and how symbolic it was of Jesus and it recalled to mind my entry from our experience last year. Hope you do not mind the repetition.
As promised, seder pictures
After prayer and songs, the Sedar was opened with blowing on shofars. Rabbi Michael is on the far right.
Here is Pastor Don and his wife Cynthia.
Here are all but Julie who were at the table. Mike who is a wonderful example of God’s healing power, my daughter Katherine in the orange, me, my husband Jim, my sons Christopher and Edward (in red). The boys were particularly happy to be able to wear yalmukas and Jim was in the role of papa.
Katherine, with the help of Gail Zeitler was asking one of the questions in Hebrew.
Christopher was reading a response to the questions asked.
We were examining the matzoh to see the piercings, and stripes and hearing about how it is a perfect picture of Christ.
Here is another group shot of those who attended. Julie had rejoined our table.
There was a lot of singing and great joy.
We learned a lot and everyone had a good time. There were some funny incidents too, like when Christopher refused to listen to reason and liberally slathered horseradish on his matzoh and we thought he was going to turn red and blow up, but he got it down. What pleased my heart was that everyone is looking forward to next year’s Passover.

Wow! This was awesome! Is this something new to you, are you Jewish, or (hmmm… I had a third question but now it’s gone.)
Oh well.
Love ~ Michelle
I am not Jewish, this was done by our church because Jesus was Jewish and the last supper was a Seder, so it was in honor of that.
Heather

Knowing you is such a joy. I grow so much spritually just by knowing you. I have talked about you so much that my daughter Alisha wants to sub your site so she can read your journal to. It is just awesome how much you are teaching us and loving us and blessing us. And that is the truth!!!!
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting! I love learning about the jewish traditions and what all the things they do are symbolic of. Must have been a great learning experience!
RYC: It takes alot more than something dumb like this to get me to go away! I’m not at all a petty person, I just needed to get it off my chest. I don’t even care if anything is ever done about it…
Thanks for sharing your pics! They were neat too look at….~D~
WOW, hallelujah! May the name of the Lord be glorified! Those pictures truly bless me Heather. No other words… I wish I could take part and experience those moments in the pics someday, learning about such beautiful cuture as one of the Jewish culture/people. Hallelujah. Blessings Heather! Always, ~E
Awesome pics and you have an AWESOME family!!!!!
love you………………………………..
That is SOOOOOO awesome that your church did that!!!! I wish I could find a church that did. I participated in the same celebration at someone’s house, and we were all disappointed that no churches here would do it. I had a hard time with the horseradish too. I can’t believe how much the Passover pointed to Christ. God is so cool.
Amen! Sometimes the only way to reach someone’s heart is to speak to it in the language of love taught to us by our heavenly Father. God bless you!!!
Good pics..
Yes.. we have to strive to lay it all down at His feet.. and let our lives be lost in Him.
Hey, thanks so much. Great pictures!
It’s so nice to be able to put pictures with names!
Beautiful!
I knew you would love it.
Yes, I just saw Anna’s description of her Seder with her family, and I thought it was wonderful for her to want to share that experience with her family. She has great ingenuity for making things happen even if, according to her, they are not the “right” things. I thought it was great.
Even my Seder that I posted is not completely the typical Jewish Seder, though I think it still has all the basic elements … and then some (like the feet washing before we sit at the table). Joe has great social anxiety and also has some difficulties in reading, so he always dreaded being the Papa. So each year a friend did it for us. But as Joshua gets older, I want him to be able to respect his father’s place as head of household, so I did not want a friend to continue to take over that role. I literally typed up that new Seder Saturday morning after I got home from work, and was at it until almost 8 AM. One of the things I changed around was that, except for the blessings, which I think is important for the head of household, anyone can participate in the readings. Joe would still lead in that he would choose which volunteers read what parts, including himself if he wanted to. I also changed the “reclining” question to “rest” because I realized that hey, we don’t recline, but we do get to rest and relax and enjoy time to reflect, a luxury that the Israelites did not have.
I know about the historical aspect of the lowest servant having the duty to wash the guests’ feet, but I did not know about Peter’s place at the table. Is that in the Bible? I do know that he told Jesus that Jesus shouldn’t be the one to wash his feet, but when Jesus said that he must be washed by Him in order to have a part in Him, Peter wanted to be completely cleansed from head to toe — just to be sure
. And yes, I too have often thought how Jesus must have given Judas a place of honor if they were dipping their matzah into the maror together. You can’t do that from the other end of the table. Then I wondered if it was literal, or if Jesus was just saying that someone who was eating the Passover meal with Him was going to betray Him. The only reason I had that thought is because even after Jesus said it, the disciples still didn’t seem to get it. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall.
Thanks for ur comment! and awesome pics!
About my post. I tottaly agree with you on it not being the case all the time. And that’s awesome that the men in ur church are that way. I would like to point out that at the end of my post i mentioned the challenge went out to both the men and women. I”m pray’n for ya.
Peace and Love

Very cool that you did one of those. I’m glad to see the Jewish roots of our faith being celebrated more often.
And thank you for the compliment.
That looked like great fun.
What fun…it’s nice to remember visually! It means so much more when you experience it first hand. Your family is beautiful!
this do in remebrance of me (from this day forward)
AIN’T GOD GREAT!
3D movies!
the whole world is His classroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So interesting! Thanks for sharing!! There is so much for us to learn of the symbolism of the Jewish way! It seem to just bring such enrichment for the Christian who isn’t a Jew….
Howdy Heather… Sorry I have not come by more, I cannot keep up.
I tried, and fell on my face. DOH! Hope all is well.
This is totally beautiful! I read your post below before I saw the pics. I think that it is wonderful that your church celebrated passover. I am taking all these notes from you, Snow, and Sandcastles and begin to study them and share them with my pastor. I hope by next year we can do a passover meal. I love it, what a way to remember Jesus. This is what christians should be celebrating rather than easter. Thank you for sharing this beautiful event.
I agree with Angel above about celebrating Passover! Thanks for sharing the pictures and description…that really helped me to understand better that particular Jewish tradition, of which I would like to know more. I would really like to sit in on a Messianic Jewish service…wouldn’t that be cool…but what you experienced is the next best thing to it!
Have a blessed day in the Lord—Margie
Heather that is so wonderful….I loved the seder we did last month as a church. We had families volunteer to do one in their homes and ppl signed up as to which one they wanted to attend and when that house was filled then you had to find another one…which there was plenty…I loved the tradition and the order and the honor and the reasons I learned for the various items and the hstory and culture ….it was MEMORABLE!…for us as a family and as friends with our host ….
Thanks for the pictures too!!!….Lovely….Mark has a long and 2 short shofars….and we brought them to the seder…it sent chills down my back when they blew them…
Have a wonderful Monday….
I am sorry you went through all that in your life and am very thankful for the power of Christ. I can only imagine some of the pain you went through. The grace of God is a very powerful thing and it changes us. Thanks for sharing your testimony. It is very encouraging.
In Christ,
Kevin
Thanks for sharing, I lvoed your photos. My church does one too (were not Jewish either) and I always love the visual that parallels what I read in the word and getting a full affect and added details that the experience brings. A friend gave me a Shofar as a wedding gift and I have a mezzuzah on my doorpost..its really cool how many doors of opportunity are opened by sharing in some Jewish traditions.
Wow, that’s awesome!!!
Cool pictures!
Hey Heather…have a wonderful MONDAY…hope hubby is feeling better………………..!!! GOD BLESS YA !!!
Hi Heather. Thanks for your last comment to me. It definitely gave me a chuckle! I wish it wasn’t so true
Blessings to you!
I enjoyed your pictures. This is pretty interesting stuff.
RYC: Heather. .you are no accident my dear sister! God knew what He was doing when He created you.. and you were certainly created in His image. Loved the photos .. being half Jewish, it is dear to my heart!
Blessings…
Phil
I think angel45 must mean rather than a secularized easter
….how wonderful that you are now doing Seder! You even use the same haggadah that we do!! I think it is the best one…it is the one the messianic congregation in denver used when we began years ago!! so full of the truth isn’t it! Well…we are actually celebrating tonight because Zachariah (my 21year old Jr. at UNC-CH) is home now for the weekend! Don’t forget Dayenu!!
Heather, I enjoyed the Seder pitures…. we have done a smaller version of it here in our home some years now and it is so meaningful. Thanks for sharing. ~Irene
