A few pictures of my kids, one of them in the swimming pool with our inflatable boat which they love to tip over, and one of them outside a deli that had a great carved bear statue, My oldest is the boy on the right.
I love my kids very much but think I am going to be glad when they go back to school tomorrow. Right now they are being teenagers with attitude. Sigh, and I am the not nice one, you see, I am suggesting they finish their homework instead of waiting until the last minute. Sigh. They are such good kids, but there are days and today is one of those days.
Was hearing a teaching today about things we must do daily and point five was 1 Cor 15:31, to die daily to ourselves. I am praying hard right now to do that, instead of becoming frustrated with their rebellion. I know they will get the work done, but sometimes I wish they would see the big picture and realize that it would be less stressful for me if they did it earlier. But then again, they are all on honor roll, so perhaps I should die to this part of my frustration.
If you are interested, here are the other points.
1. Numbers 28 , two lambs to be sacrificed daily morning and night, by the priests. We are the priests of God today, and we are as Romans 12 says, to present our bodies as a living sacrifice wholy acceptable unto Him which is our resonable service.
When the alarm clock goes off, pray and ask God to help me today to live for Him, morning and evening we are to present our bodies to the Lord, and to walk in His paths. (I am good at this until my feet hit the ground, then life intervenes).
2. Psalm 86 to cry out to God daily for our needs and fears. Intercession, to pray not only for others, but also for ourselves and our needs. Acts 5:42, daily in the temple and every house do not cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ. We need to look beyond ourselves and see the big picture.
3. Acts 17:10 The Bereans received the wod with readiness and searched the scriptures. We are to daily search the scriptures. We are to search to find the Master (Jesus) not to fault the pastor. Every person will make a mistake here and there, we are to keep seeking Christ, for the Word of God is the water that washes us.
4. Hebrews 3:13 Exhort one another daily while it is called today. Exhort is the Greek Word Paraclete, which means to come alongside of and comfort. It does not mean get into another person’s face, that does not do the work of the kingdom, but it is to gently walk alongside a person and begin to redirect steps, mostly by your actions and behaviors that they can observe.
5. 1 Cor 15:31 I die daily, take the lower place, give it up, be humble.
6. Proverbs 8:34 Wisdom, which is a picture of Jesus. Men who heareth me (Wisdom, Jesus) watching daily at My gates, waiting at the doors. Expect today to be the day that Jesus is coming, but plan as though he is going to take 100 years to come. We must be prepared, with our lamps ready, but at the same time be about His work and service.
Well, I am glad I spent a few minutes in the Word to calm myself. I think I have to give this over to Jesus and let him do the work on the kids.
Hope you are having a great Memorial Day, my boys marched in the Memorial Day parade because their sponsor is our local VFW Hall.
It is now sunny and pretty. Think I will just enjoy the sun.

your kids are beautiful ~ does your husband help you deal with their attitudes? I sure needed mine during my kids teen years.
TEENAGERS! They’re cute… I think I will just look at your pictures instead of having my own!
In all seriousness, though, I have a great deal of respect for parents of teenagers. That is no small task you have been given. Hang in there!
Great pictures of the kids. Remember all kids need to rebel a little bit. Give them lots of love & listen to them. Hope their rebellion is in their clothes or something like that. If you teach them right & they know that they are loved they will be ok. Hopefully, too you have taught them to think for themselves (you won’t always be there when there are tough decisions to be made).
Happy Memorial Day!
They are beautiful/handsome children!!!!
Yes,they ARE beautiful/handsome kids. We,also have a daughter and two boys, the boys are 23 and the daughter’s 26. Joel and Rob are (fraternal) twins. By any chance, are YOUR boys twins? Maybe it’s my imagination, but the boys look an awful lot alike and about the same age…..
Ah,wait, they’re NOT twins because you wrote “my oldest is on the right….”
(Then again,JOEL,who is two minutes older than Rob,refers to his “younger brother” all the time…………….!)
If your kids are on honor roll, something is going right! Hang in there mom, some days are harder than others!
Awesome family. Ahhhh….we are all rebellious kids in a way…aren’t we? His rebellious kids…Perhaps, that’s why Israel continued being called ‘Children of Israel’, even when they were grown?
Peace.
Your children are beautiful…..you should be very proud of yourself. They look very happy and very loved. God bless you and your family!!!!
love,
marci
Beautiful lids ya got there! Youare outrageously blessed!
Very good blog today. Excellent reading. Two thumbs up.
As for the parade, did you get pics of your kiddos?
How old are your kids? It’s weird to hear you talking about them returning to school when I’ve been out two weeks
. I hope you had a blessed Memorial Day!
Nice pictures.
aww heather, your kids are so cute. they look very sweet and innocent. although…im sure no teenager is described that way. hehe.
hope you had a great weekend.
-joy=)
Love the pics. But I have one question: It was warm enough by you to go swimming this weekend? I mean, it was nice here and all, but it wasn’t that warm.
The pool water was 94 degrees, so if you stayed under the water, you were warm.
My kids are two boys aged 15 and 16 and my daughter who is 13.
They are sweet, and yes, they did get their homework done, but my son waited until the 11and 1/2 th hour for his poetry project. He was still glueing and drawing pictures this morning. sigh.

Sorry, forgot to answer one last question. We start later than many of you for school, a few days after Labor Day, so our guys go to school longer. Elementary lets out third week of June, Middle school and High school last day of class is June 10, then there is regents exams and finals which take the following week or two and the kids only go when they are scheduled. Katherine will officially be out June 14, and I don’t know the boys’ schedule for exams yet, they each have a couple of regents to take.

Thank you again for your very insightful comment. How true this is…”once we realize we are humble in a situation, the humility is gone for there is pride in the humility.” Ahhh…I guess this is a battle we will always fight in our own human nature. ‘Who will set me free from this body of sin and death?” But, yet, we press on, amen?
Thanks also for reminding me that a we don’t always see the growth of a seedling right away…yes, others need to water don’t they? I will rest in that and trust because God reminds me time and time again, to stand back…it is ‘His deal’….and I love how He gets His way.
Peace to you.
Love the pictures. Teenager attitudes can be quite trying. Be encouraged it doesn’t last forever. They still are cute when there are sleeping. lol
Have a blessed day. I pray for wisdom and discernment in dealing with “ATTITUDE” lala
Sometimes motherhood borders between wanting to kill them while loving them intensely. Hey, it’s okay to have “moments.” Sometimes it helps me to jump in the van and just drive around for awhile. I pop in a praise cd and get lost in Him for awhile.
Like what lala said above.
I want to thank you for your comment about forgiveness. Though I still do not agree, it helped me clarify something I was trying to say in the original post. I added an edit and hope you can get the time to read it. I know how hard this is for you. It is for me too; that is why it was so important for me to see what scripture had to say on the subject rather than regurgitate what has been spewed out by “feel-good” Christians (not that you are one by a long shot) for as long as I can remember. It is nice to think of the benefits we receive when we follow God’s lead, but in the end, I don’t think it’s about us.
Your kids are so GORGEOUS…..looking like they were having a good time…glad everyone is finally having good weather…GOD BLESS
You have beautiful kids!!! Don’t feel bad… I’m counting down the years to graduation!
Wow, that is so different how you met your husband. I guess you never know where love lurks. Thanks for sharing.
Those are good looking kids. Parenting is the hardest job in the world.
Great pictures… and I’m with you on how hard it is to daily die to self.
THANKS for your prayers HEATHER…GOD IS GOOD he is working all out…NOTHING comes against me that GOD cannot handle.
AMEN.
GREATER IS in me then HE that is in the world…amen
GOD BLESS YOU…..always.
Hey Heather! Thanks for the welcome back. Great pictures!
Love.

Hi Heather. Yes the silence and the waiting is tough, but it is working in us a much more valuable prize for Him. A vessel tried and weathered in the crucible, the furnace. Able to withstand all that He asks. It is preparation. The silence and waiting teach faith and trust when we cannot see. For we are to walk by faith and not by sight. The temptation to take control and “do” something comes to all of us again and again, but it is in each test of dying to self, in yielding and surrendering our expectations and our “need to know” that we gain victories. And they are His victories. For when we come to the place of KNOWING that we cannot . . . this is where He steps in and does through the yielded vessels. Being empty of self and striving, so that we may be filled and poured out and take no glory for ourselves, this is where He is most glorified! Blessings to you!
Beautful kids – Yes Noah loves his haircut. Alica (my 20 year old daughter) can do nothing wrong in his sight.
Your kids are beautiful! I know how you feel, my boys are teenagers and my daughter is only about 4 years away from being one (and sometimes already has “attitude”). It is really hard being a parent, especially to teenagers. I don’t know how people who don’t know Jesus do it!
Have a wonderful day, Heather, and God bless you!
Love the picture of your kids, they really are very nice looking! They look like they are having so much fun swimming. Is that your pool or someone elses?
It is interesting that you can understand me and what I am feeling. I have often thought about how the human mind and emotions tend to react the same way in everyone. God is such a God of order that even when destruction is brought upon us, we react the same way as humans. I am not sure I made that even remotely clear…sorry if I didn’t.
The bible study, as always, was cool.
Heather – Thanks for stopping by. I’m curious as to what you meant by the following: I guess God is the best one to trust, but sometimes even He doesn’t seem all that trustworthy.
i think i am like the youngest one to comment on your site….lol well….yeah it was a long survey and did take a while lol. i am in a christian rock band i am the lead singer and i play guitar , um there are four people in the band me,kelsey me best friend , laura my other best friend and kelseys bro plays drums and kelsey plays bass and laura is keyboard so we’ve got everything and we have good lyrics aswell. it’s funny you should ask lol “vans” are a type of shoe they have real awsome grips on the bottom of them because they are used for skateboarding i skate …some people wear vans cause they think there a cool type of shoe i’ll post a pic of one of there shoes on my xanga so you can see them. what is this “21 questions” type thing lol. im happy that you want to get to know me…i can tell because you ask so many interesting questions lol. oh and with the kids thing yes indeed you have very good looking kids and one thing i can tell you as a teen is not that im trying to tell you how to take care of your children but if they are on honor roll and doing well in scholl then maybe they know what there doing, yes it’s good to do your homework earlier to get it done but they are teens and teens would rather jump off a cliff then to look at the longterm affect of there choices now. maybe your teens might not lol but from what my friends tell me and from what i experience i can only tell you that you are good at what your doing maybe just try to cut some slack in some areas….lol
i guess i’ll ttyl okay and i think your a nice person to talk to

That is too funny about the suit of armor! But just think- you yourself now have another kind of armor (Eph. 6)!
By the way- Good looking kids you have! Makes me wish I was young again!
Your kids look like they are having fun! They can be so sweet, can’t they?
WoW ! what a good looking bunch ! You are blessed !
I know the attitudes you are talking about though ! LOL
Your Pastor is very wise ! I had to do that myself for about a years period… every thought was analyzed and that taught me how to get rid of all of the negitive thoughts that had been fed into me all my life ! It was so much more productive than just taking a pill ! ; )
I am now working with a young lady in youth and the Holy Spirit is all over it !
Live is so much better now ! hallelujah !!!
Keep up the good work !
Love, Tracy
Read over the prior posts. I understand your point of view (I had some inkling from reading your posts in the past). Sounds like you’re blessed with a a loving, godly pastor who is helping you. If you want to talk privately I can get my email address to you. I think I might be able to share some insights that might be helpful. May God bring you along the path of reconciliation until you trust him without thinking twice.
Heather – would you like for me to delete your comment from my site?
Huh….
I asked that last question because the last two posts I made here weren’t showing up. But now, they’re here…. Weird. I thought you’d deleted my comments and might want the one on my site removed as well.
Yeah, they’re on page two, but I’m pretty sure I looked there before posting. I’m getting varying numbers on how many comments you have for this post as well. Maybe I just missed it, but I don’t think so…..
It looks like you have a great family you are blessed! Thanks for posting on my site its nice to meet you and read your awesome posts! : )
