Great sermon this Sunday. Our pastor was talking about the Beatitudes (Be-attitudes).
Now, I know that we are to try and live by them every day, but here is a twist I hadn’t thought about. Here is the jist of the sermon.
If a child is asked what Beattitude they wanted to pick to live their lives by, they would look at the rewards and then pick the attitude based on the reward.
An adult might look for rewarding work, what would be the most pleasant work to do.
A spiritually minded person would look at loving God, knowing that God would take care of the rest, and if we focused on loving God, our actions would follow.
I sure missed being on line, and will try to come back later with other things to share.

Welcome back.
And thank you. I forgave James a long time ago, at least I think I did. Sometimes I have to reforgive him, if that makes any sense. I do not get mad anymore when I think about it. But nightmares and flashbacks still come and go. My epesiotomy never fully healed because of all the scar tissue, so sometimes I feel the pain from that, and it reminds me. Anger is long gone, but memories are still there waiting to be triggered. I did not want to become a part of any blogrings on xanga; I would feel obligated to visit everybody in each ring at least once. So I thought the button was a good way of showing support, and I wanted to share why I wanted to add the button. Hope this makes sense.
You are beautiful. I like the all-in-one-room idea.
I’m glad you’re back.
((hugs)) Not fun indeed. Glad it was the only poison you could get for awhile.
Hehe. It is exciting.
Psychology… I’m not sure what. Counseling? Or doing something with e.d. and SI.
What interests do you wish to pursue?
((hugs)) I know you do. Thank you. I care too. And thank you. “I just know that if I am clutching at straws trying to survive life, I want a lifeline that is real and substantial, one that stands the test of time, and one that works.” I respect that.
Hehe, lots of studying. Rabia.
Thanks.
I hope your weekend’s going well too. ((hugs))

You’re back! Yay.
Interesting concept… I like it. A twist I wouldn’t have expected.
*hugs* Come back again soon!

Miss Sophie sounds like a wonderful person. How awesome that she took the time to care for you in your hurting world. I am glad that Miss Sophie did that, cuz at least you have some good memories from your childhood to look back on. And now you yourself have passed on that loving attitude and are careing for others in such a beautiful and impacting way. Go you and Miss Sophie!!!!
I am glad you are back!

Thanks for the note on my site. This was a great realization about the beattitudes. I think it is absolutely right. I wonder how, though, we can take them as a whole and cherrish them all. Be blessed.
thanks for the coment. we had the beattitudes in part yesterday too. good points to ponder.
seek ye first the kingdome of God and His righteousness and all falls into place!

Tozhannah did a think on the beatitudes a while ago – she contended that they were rungs in the ladder of discipleship. Different levels we climb in growing closer to God. It was phenomenal – I saved it to my studies page so I could read back over it. She was definitely onto something.
Hey there! Thank you for your comment =). I really appreciatted. I like your entry, thank you for sharing such words of wisdom regarding the Beattitudes. It’s been a while since I’ve heard on the Beattitudes. God Bless you very much. Keep living for Christ =). Amen. ~Always, E
Welcome back
Very good! I’m glad to see you getting things out of the Bible like that; the message of the sermon is spot-on. My dad wrote a book on the Beatitudes (I don’t think it’s in print any more, unfortunately), so I’ve heard a lot about them. Blessings to you!
