Here is a picture of Pastor Don (left) and Pastor Dongo (right)
As promised, here is Tuesday Night’s Bible Study.
Last night was Pastor Dongo’s last night here. He is travelling to California, but I am not sure which city. I will try to find out. So we had a potluck dinner in honor of him. Some made African dishes that were awesome. There was a curried carrot with raisin dish that I have to find the recipe for.
Pastor Dongo has an orphanage in Kampala City, Uganda. He is now working on building a school building.
If you recall, one Friday he spoke on God’s ownership, and last Sunday he spoke on our Will. I was not there to listen, but will get the tape and try to transcribe notes for you. But the general idea was that we don’t own our own wills, they belong to God. We are responsible to manage our wills in the way the owner wants (the owner being God), and we manage our wills by obedience.
Last night, Pastor Dongo talked about God’s plan.
He pointed out that everything we do is done by following a plan. And the order of our universe testifies to a plan.
Man is the crown of God’s creation. God made man like himself, and different from every other of his creation. Man was created in God’s image and likeness. God gave man power and dominion on the earth. Genesis 1:26-28
Man followed the suggestion of satan and rebelled against God and man no longer was like God. He lost the image and likeness of God and the dominion on the earth, which was given over to satan. (Jesus was the image of God on the earth, and part of that image was obedience to God, when man rebelled, he no longer portrayed obedience).
Satan believed that he had destroyed God’s plan when he caused man to disobey. But God foreknew what was going to happen and made a plan to circumvent what satan meant for evil. Satan cannot stop God’s fulfillment of his plan.
Romans 8:28-30 is an outline of God’s plan for man. We are called according to His purpose, God planned to call back man into the image of His son. Christ is the image of the invisible God, so God in Christ Jesus reaches to us to restore us to our original state before the fall of man. And that original state is also the image of God.
Here is the plan:
We are chosen.
We are set apart.
We have been called by God.
We are being put right with God in Jesus, so we are made the righteousness of God in Jesus.
We are being given the opportunity to share God’s glory.1 Peter 1:2, tells us we are chosen to God’s purpose beforehand. That God planned for us before we were even born.
Ephesians 1:4 We were chosen before the foundation of the world, so we may be Holy. Justified and sanctified through Christ so we can be Holy.
He chose us for he knew we would serve Him.
Col. 1:15 Jesus is the image of the invisible God.
The disciples asked Jesus to show them the father, and he told them that if you see me, you’ve seen the father. As believers we are to be the reflection of Jesus wherever we are.
God wanted to form a big family, so Jesus is the first born among many brethren. God wanted all his children to reign with Him forever and ever, and ever.
Revelation 22:5
Ephesians 1, describes what happened when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
God made the universe and man for his Glory.
Isaiah 43:7 He had created everything for His glory.
Ephesians 1: 6, 12, 14 so we will be the praise of his Name.
Eph. 4:13 Christ gave the five fold ministry to the church.
We are not to seek signs and wonders but we are to seek the creator, God.
I enjoyed so much hearing Pastor Dongo’s teaching. Sometimes I think we get used to thinking in a certain way, and searching the scriptures from our view point. I love having visiting pastors, and ones from other cultures to show us what is important from their point of view. It helps to make me aware of a fullness in the Bible that cannot be gained by just one point of view. There is such richness in the Word of God.

No one asked killeverywhiteperson to read your post and yet he felt the need comment. Gods word is sharper than any two edged sored. That man is an example of some-one following the suggestions of satan!
The Bible teaches us that the law is the tutor that brings us to Christ; it shows us our sinfulness and brings us to the end of ourselves. I have friends who are Catholic, so I understand a little bit of where you are coming from. I would ask you to look at the book of Acts and tell me what you see when Paul preached. Jude told us to contend earnestly for the faith; Paul warned the Ephesian elders in Acts 20:17-38 that there would be false teachers arising. He also warned Timothy; we see Peter saying a similar thing in his epistles. God’s Word will do it’s job, if we preach God’s Word. I hope that this makes sense and you see why I must contend earnestly for the faith. I had prayed that people would hear my heart’s cry for the Catholics, Jews, and Greeks; that is my message on this post.
Grace & Peace,

This is not boring. I find it VERY INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this, Heather…………………
Amen. Sounds like a very good word from Pasor Dongo.
I wonder if your Pastor Dongo knows a missionary that I went to school with named Charles Kalule. He is a Ugandan that went back to his native land to work. And Kampala sounds like an area in which he ministers. I will have to check that out further.
Thanks for posting the word. I heard about killeverywhiteperson. Most likely he will be thrown out of xanga. I know of two others who violated xanga rules and got the boot. Apparently somebody reports them or there is some monitoring that is going on.
Feel free to block him.
From New York!!!
That is so interesting to me for the simple fact that I live in the Bible belt, and I hear about how “evil” and “Godless” those “Yankees” are. Thank you for proving many people wrong… thank you for your witness!

“killeverywhiteperson” was harassing ME on MY site and someone ELSE on HER site*…..why don’t some of us get together and complain to xanga about him? It’s a disgrace that he can choose that username with “kill” in it. Because he’s obviously BLACK,xanga no doubt rationilzes that “kill” is his “free speech”. If a WHITE person wanted the user name “killeveryblackperson”,it would be declined as HATE speech. Personally,I blocked him from leaving comments on my site a few weeks ago…..I hope you block him from YOURS,too! *That gal he was harassing was black, and “kill” didn’t even know it!!!!!
I have to get offline in a sec, but I’ll come back and read about your bible study, I swear! Anyways, thanks for letting me know that you’re praying for me and all; I really appreciate how supportive my family and friends and people I hardly know have been! I hope soon I’ll come back to God. I miss Him.

I used the block command, and prayed for this person. I suspect there is a lot of hurt behind that rage. But his site is not a great one to visit.

My own testimony was published on my site on March 13th,the 30th anniversary of my conversion,if you’re interested.

Haooy Birthday and thank you for the comments you know as well as me we can pray for people but they make the choices they do and judgemnet day cums for us all – thank you for the great posting and 2 E-Props Heather have a AWESOME day may GOD BLESS you and your entire family and have a GREAT BDay, Mike
I have been in the faith for quite a while, however, I am still growing and learning; that never stops. No one, except Christ, is the expert on these things; some, however, do have a better understanding than others. There are people who are younger in the faith than myself that have a better understanding of Scripture than I, and vice versa. I am not as confrontational as you describe your sister and her family; however, I am not as gentle as you describe yourself. What saves a person isn’t an approach or theology or doctrine, but God. I have a friend who experienced “Christians” who acted like your description of your sister and he hated Christians; however, one day, for no reason other than the good pleasure of God, he was saved. People cannot hinder God’s plan for salvation. I’ve seen both approaches work and fail and have come to the conclusion that it isn’t the approach, but God Who determines their salvation. However, we still have a responsibility to walk in wisdom toward those who are outside and season our speech with grace. Don’t worry about the length of the comment; feel free to write what you feel lead to write.
Grace & Peace,
Robb <><
Thanks for dropping by. I’m glad you found benefit in what was written. Continue to open up other areas to God as you become aware of them. All of us still have infinite room for growth (to echo Robb’s comments just above) and a greater capacity to draw even closer to God.
Hi there friend, how are u?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!
***BIRTHDAY HUGS***
Celebrate the day you breathed freely the air of the earth for the first time…I am a person seeking to understand the word and I really appreciated this posting as it was clear and easy to follow. I like how you outlined the plan. Satan seeks to destroy God’s creation because he is vain and loves no one but only himself. I am sure that “killseverywhiteperson” feels the same way – destroy so you are all that is left and if you are that is left you are the best but who shall your rule over when you have destroyed it all. Who shall be left to worship you – duhhhhhhhhh! Smiles and cyberhugs.
Excellent study!!!
Heather, I love reading your posts! They are so rewarding and so heart felt. Thank you for taking the time to take notes and then share with all of us! Praying your husband is well! ~Kim
