  • More on that worm, what an awesome fact, and adds to my third day stuff.

    Searched my Bible margin notes and found it. The red was used in the Holy of Holies, the curtain of the tabernacle, and also in priest’s garments.  We did an extensive study of how the tabernacle was a perfect picture of Christ, and all the colors relate to aspects of Christ’s life.

    If you want a fun fact sometimes, find the passage that talks about where the tribes were to stand when they travelled carrying the tabernacle, and count up the numbers in each of the tribes, and put those numbers on a rough sketch of the tabernacle and see what shape emerges. Helps you to see what Balaam saw when he was told by God not to curse the Israelites.

    The worm’s name:  TOLAITH

    It is a scarlet worm, and the worm was ground up to dye the cloth.

    When the worm reproduces it climbs onto the limb of a tree, reproduces and dies in the process. It leaves a red spot on the limb of the tree and after three (3) days the red spot dries and turns white as snow.

    Some things in the Bible are just so awesome. Is that not a picture of Christ.

  • Yes they are!!!!! That is awesome about the worm! I pray that your spirit is lifted today and I pray that the presence of God overshadow you and give you great peace. love you

  • That is very awesome.

  • Hey Heather, I posted something for you today. I hope that it blesses you and answers some of your questions.

  • Hey i like your site!!!!

    Me

  • That is really cool!

  • Reminds me a bit of Zechariah 3:1-7

      Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

       Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel. He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him ” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.” Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the LORD was standing by.

       And the angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, ”Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways and if you will perform My service, then you will also govern My house and also have charge of My courts, and I will grant you free access among these who are standing here.’”

    Satan = Satan

    Angel of the Lord = Christ

    Joshua = You and me!

  • Kewl worm.  I like worms.  Now snakes… ((shakes head)).
    You confused me with the priest/Balaam thing, though. Gotta read that again…!

  • This is great HEATHER…I will get to your EMAIL I got it and read it last nite………………………..LOVE YOU ! HAVE A WONERDUL DAY….

    off to treatment………………………hugs sweets

  • Hey Heather,

    Would it be okay with you if I cheated for everyone and posted that comment about the formation surrounding the tabernacle?  I won’t if you don’t want me too.

  • Wow that anology of the worm and Christ is incredible!  Almost takes my breath away how beautiful the Bible is and how many things there are for us besides what we think we know.  The scarlet study is really interesting.  I am learning so much from you.  I wish you knew how special you are to me, how many times I pray for you throughout my day.  I love comeing to your site, it is always filled with honesty, gentleness and awesome teachings on the Bible.  You always make me smile when you leave a comment on my site.  I feel so cared for by you!

    I wish I could offer you back something. I am not a theologian.  I could be, but right now my life is not set up for me to have time for in depth studies.  I wish I could offer comfort and answers, but life is a mystery to me also.  I wish there was a way to make the memories go away and not hurt anymore.  But I still remember also.  I am not sure there is a healthy way to make them go away. Tim supressed the traumatic abusive memories somehow till he was 41, buried them deep inside of himself and wouldnt let them out. He started early I guess with the whole surpression thing.  And it nearly destroyed him when they all came spilling out.  I just think it is a part of the make up of our mind to remember stuff.  And it is obvious that you are a very smart person, and that is a trait of high intelligence, remembering things earlier and clearer than others may.  But even though I cannot make the hurt go away, I just want you to know how much I care and respect you and how your gentleness is seeping through Xanga and you are making it a better place to be for all of us!

  • I remember reading about the worm somewhere, but had no idea about the spot and what happens to it. That is so amazing… and so like our God. And there is so much we don’t know…

  • That was awesome!…I just remembered an email I got with a picture of a certain type of pine tree that only during Easter time does a cross section on the tip of the branch grow in such a way that a cross is made…I’ll have to find it and post it …maybe around Easter time…

    I am blown away whenever I look at an ocean but then there is sooo much I don’t see in that ocean…I look at a beautiful sunrise or sunset or the stars at night and again…a total lack of understanding of all that is entailed in astronomy and light and refraction and invisible light rays that are there but we don’t see them. I’ve never seen a UV ray but I have certainly felt the effects of them!…The Human body…another amazing creation that we are only beginning to know inside and out….studying God’s Word another amazing treasure of hidden things just waiting for us to explore and experience…

    I love your diligence in the Word………may it lead you to Him in ways you have felt eluded you…love you… Kerri

  • Snowberry, feel free to post the answer to my puzzle, that would be great! Anna, imagine, after seeing the answer on snowberry’s site, that Balaam was looking down upon the Israelite encampment, and what he would have seen. Kind of neat,

    Glad you guys are enjoying the worm. Bible study today was on God not leaving or forsaking us, I will post later. My middle son lost his Boy Scout uniform so we had to get a new one, and all those patches. The man in the store left some out, so I have to take from one son’s uniform and sew onto the other because my son is officiating in a Blue and Gold dinner. Sigh.

    Tomorrow I teach sewing to 12 Girl Scouts for about six hours, and one son to Science Olympiad, has to be dropped off at school at 6:15 in the morning (there goes my fantasty of a 9:00 sleeping in), and then off to sewing, then back home to help out at blue and gold, then pick up son from science olympiad, hopefully happy because their team won the contest. Perhaps Sat. night I will get to continue with my studies. Never a dull moment, huh.

    Hope everyone’s weekend is awesome.

  • Thank you Heather for letting me post the comment.  It was in response to something you said about the symbolism of the scarlet thread and the tabernacle on my January 5th post (all are welcome to read – you can click here).

    “There is another thing about the tabernacle that, if you haven’t learned already, may knock your socks off.  In Numbers, it describes how the Israelite army was to march toward the promised land in formation.  All the males of the tribes of Israel from 20 years old and up marched in formation, except for the Levites, who were to serve God directly by caring for the Tabernacle and the Arc of the Covenant; the male Levites were to be service from 1 month old and up (for those who think children can’t serve God in the church, I think this is something that should be looked more into).  Anyway, they were to flank the Tabernacle on all 4 sides like this: to the North – from Levi, the sons of Merari, 6,200; from Naphtali, 53,400; from Asher, 41,500; from Dan, 62,700; total to the North, 163,800; to the South – from Levi, the sons of Kohath, 8,600; from Gad, 45,650; from Simeon, 59,300; from Reuben, 46,500; total to the South, 160, 050.  These were the two arms of almost the same number.  To the West – from Levi, the sons of Gershon, 7,500; from Benjamin, 35,400; from Manasseh, the son of Joseph, 32,200, from Ephraim, the son of Joseph, 40,500; total to the West, 115,600.  This is the short arm.  To the East – from Zebulun, 57,400; from Issachar, 54,400; from Judah, 74,600; total to the East, 186,400.  This was the long arm.  In other words, the formation in which the Lord had the Israelites walk toward the Promise was in the shape of a cross, with the Tabernacle, the Seat of God at the center.  I thought you would find that interesting.”

  • Where did you get the information on the Toliath worm? I am writing a paper and want to use that info in the paper, but I need some references. Please and thanks!

  • Jon Courson has expository sermons and I heard about the worm on one of his audio sermons, then googled it and found the information on a few sites to confirm it.  Also checked a few 8438 in strongs. There are a few spellings.
