How we deal with our stuff is a choice by Pastor Don
See Hilton’s testimony here for a reference point for this teaching.
Pastor Don told us that when you draw closer to God, God draws closer to you and angels can minister to you and your family. We have to learn to trust the seed that we have sown.
Since we are imperfect and make errors, we can blame a whole lot of that on the devil, but if we blame what are our imperfections on the devil we are not acting as mature Christians.
We do not grow up until we accept what kind of environment that we were raised up in. Our kids watch to see what will my parents do? Kids watch us and that transfers into their flesh.
With the blood of Jesus comes Spiritual seed, and then we have our physical fleshly seed. As we grow in Christ we begin to replace our physical seed with Spiritual seed. In order to do that we have to know who we are in Christ.
We do not want to walk in our footsteps. We want to walk in God’s Word.
Galatians 5:16-18 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
The seed is sanctified for you are Holy. Jesus holds the power over death and life. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Most people misquote this passage as saying the power of life and death, but the order is reversed – it is Death and Life, not life and death. Death comes first – then life. Jesus and our tongues are what can use to overcome evil seeds that we have sown. With our Spiritual kids or or physical kids it is the same thing. What are we saying over our kids?
We keep looking for generational curses, but not all that happens is a generational curse. Generational curses manifest supernaturally without environmental circumstances happening. If you label all your problems as generational curses you are giving the spirits permission to do what you are labeling a generational curse.
When a part is needing to be changed, sometimes the child seeks space – and sometimes resistance is necessary for the new thing to emerge. If you are muscle building you will not build great muscles lifting up feathers or a tea bag. You need to begin to increase the resistance to your muscles – adding more and more weight until the desired muscle mass is formed.
Boys will fight a lot – and that helps them to have the resistance to develop manhood.
Girls try to stand mom down – toe to toe, nose to nose, and tongue lashing happens.
This kind of resistance that kids do in our culture does not happen in other cultures for there are rites of passage that children in other cultures go through to prove that they are adults. In our culture this does not happen.
This kind of resistance is only of the devil if the devil sees an opening – if the child is not only rebeling against you, but rebeling against all that you stand for it becomes demonic.
We need to stand and know that they need deliverance, but there is the right moment for this deliverance. When they are delivered, the spirit of rebelion is done. We need to stand and see the move of God.
If you open your mouth and say that what your rebellious child is going through is demonic, then the demon will say, “I’ll help you.” There will be torment, interrupted sleep, excess in any area, pushing the limits and constraints, violating all that is laid down. Not always are these actions demonic, they can also stem from the flesh.
Yet, what we give into in our flesh can be assisted by the devil to turn it into something even worse.
God has set laws into effect that work and we have willpower. Now we can will to give into what the flesh is saying, or we can will to put God’s laws into effect in our lives.
Adam and Eve were talked into rebelion.
Genesis 4:1-2 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the LORD.” Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Cain and Abel chose their professions. Jokingly Pastor Don said that Cain likes carbs and Abel meat.
Pastor Don recently lost a lot of weight, and in order to do that he had to realize that the devil used carbohydrates to try and bring him down. He made this identification, and realized he had to take a stand against what the devil was trying to do to kill him, so he resolved to follow a plan that God gave him for losing weight.
Genesis 4:3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD.
Some people ask where is the tithe? It began at the beginning of time, as a thank you to God. When we give God the 10%, God then blesses our 90%. Instead of the sacrifice that Abel brought, Cain brought his works.
Genesis 4:4-5 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
God did not respect Cain AND his offering. God looks at the heart of man – notice in verse three that Cain brought AN offering of fruit of the ground – it did not say he brought the first fruits or the best, just AN offering.
Abel brought the best – the firstborn of the flock and the fat.
Genesis 4:6 So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?
Just because you are angry doesn’t mean that your countenance has to fall. It is two separate sentences, two different thoughts.
Genesis 4:7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
If you do well you will be accepted – face fixed. The choice was Cain’s. He could choose to do what was pleasing to God, to do well.
Genesis 4:8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother;c]’> against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
If the Bible is not historically accurate there is no reason to follow the guidance of it. Prophetically it did happen and historically it did happen.
Anyone or anything that holds you in a sinful situation you have a choice about. Self is subject to your control and HIS (God’s) Will.
Praying this blesses you. At times I see the hand of God in both what I read and the notes I get to share with you – for often they help me deal with immediate circumstances in my life, and I have had to take a lot of my will and emotions in control over some tough situations. God is good though, and He gives us the tools and equips us to do just that.
