God shall visit you by Pastor Emmanuel Eyim-Danquah
Genesis 50:22-25 So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father’s household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years. Joseph saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation. The children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were also brought up on Joseph’s knees.
And Joseph said to his brethren, “I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”Joseph was in Egypt, sold by his jealous brothers into slavery. When the time was right, God orchestrated for Joseph to be put in the place of Prime Minister of Egypt. This was at a time of economic recession (famine) in the land. Because of this all of Joseph’s family was brought to Egypt and the family line was preserved until they could go back to reclaim Cainan.
There is nothing new under the sun.
Right now we are in an economic recession and God has made promises for his chosen people. During this time of recession there are over 30 million in the US without jobs. But God has made a promise to you, and His promise will be kept. If everything was smooth and prosperous, we would think that we did things in our own strength. But God wants us to build our faith up to see what God will do and then God gets the glory.
The people are crying, they have nothing, and as you are blessed then you can be more of a blessing to others. A beam of light from God is enough to change your situation. It can let you sleep with princes, work when there is a recession. God does not change his plans and purposes because we are in a recession. He can accelerate them.
God makes a promise for Abraham about Isaac. After the Israelites were in Egypt for a long time, Joseph had to die – to go to heaven. As believers we will all die and go to heaven whether by rapture or by death.
Joseph tells his family that God will take them and bring them back to the Promised Land, they will not be in Egypt forever. Egypt is not our promise, it is a temporary place to teach us lessons. Where we are now in our lives is a temporary situation. At the right time: GOD SHALL SURELY VISIT YOU. God meant this, it may not happen immediately, there may be delays and difficulties and we need to stay in faith. We may not know how God’s promise will be fulfilled, but He will fulfill the promise through our faith. If you think God gives you a dream and you can fulfill it with your own talents and abilities then it most probably isn’t of God. God will give you dreams and plans that seem impossible for you to do, and you need to rely on HIM to help you fulfill them. Sometimes they seem larger than a mountain and the only way to accomplish them is with His help.
In our current situations, financial, physical, healing, ministerial, or whatever difficult situation you are facing God will SURELY visit you. That kind of visit isn’t God coming and sticking out his hand and saying, “Hi, how are you?” but it is to change the condition you are in. Your condition is temporary, not permanent. You need to mix faith in the process before your miracle or deliverance can occur.
We receive our blessings spiritually before we see them in the physical. Pastor Danquah told us that our situations will be transformed in three months time.
Exodus 3:7 And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
God has SURELY seen the oppression. God began to bring his promise that Joseph spoke to his family to pass. He is going to have an encounter with a young man (80 year old Moses) in the backside of the desert. And just as SURELY God is going to be moving among the people in Living Word Chapel. We need to remember that God knows our names and He knows our problems. He sees our affliction. Affliction causes persistent pain or distress. No one knows what you are going through, but God does. The pain is eating the inside of you. The Children of Israel were in Egypt 430 years and persecuted by the Egyptians. Yet, at the right time God delivered the promise. God tells them, I have seen your affliction.
God has come to deliver you out of your affliction. Affliction is a spirit that needs to come out so that we can find joy again. When we are under affliction we lose our appetite for food and things of life. The devil afflicts you to destroy your peace of mind. The devil does not want you to be happy, but we have Jesus who can touch our lives and give us real joy.
We need to be in the Word of God when affliction troubles us. Put on the whole armor of God, and be strong in the power of the Spirit. We can bind that spirit of affliction, and end up free, with a sound mind. God has come to deliver us.
Exodus 3:8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.
These are comforting words.
Exodus 3:9-10 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
God appeared to Moses and told him that now was the time to begin this.
Your ONE DAY is TODAY. God has SURELY seen your affliction. God knows our sorrows, and oppression, and how we have been bound.
John 3:38 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Healing is the children’s’ bread. God will deliver you. If God says He will DELIVER you, HE will deliver you.
The Egyptians at this time were escalating the burdens on the Israelites. Know that demons are out to make sure you are uncomfortable, to make you feel like you want to die. To make you say to yourself I want to go to heaven soon. But this is not the time. This is not God’s plan for you.
Pastor Danquah told us that one day he was driving and the devil told him that he would die. But while he was driving he heard a clear word from God that told him that he will live and not die.
The demons want your joy. They want to destroy you, put a spirit of oppression on you to pull you away from God. Yet God has promised us, “I will SURELY visit you.”
God can make a miracle in dramatic ways or in nice smooth ways. When the Spirit, faith and the Word are in action, there are changes in our emotions, spirit and body. God can bring this to Living Word Chapel, to us as well. He can meet us in prayer, there will be a revival of prayer and he will give us the dreams that we are to pray about.
David prayed to bring his soul out of prison. When we are desperate and everything seems against us we often don’t pray or pray in tongues and that can cause depression. God knows you, and will set conditions to help deliver you.
Three questions to answer regarding God’s Visiting us.
1. WHEN IS GOD GOING TO VISIT ME?
We are a people who want instant everything, and fast responses, but God does not always visit us on our time table. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
There is a time for your purpose and God knows when that time is. When God’s time to visit is here, no demon can stop it.
The Children of Israel were in Egypt until God sent Moses to deliver them. He had a plan for them in Egypt, and when the time was right for them to be set free, God arranged it. God knows the season and the hour for your deliverance. Our glory is on the way, and restoration will come. People may laugh at you and your circumstances now, but when God’s timing is right He will put you in the place of elevation in your circumstances.
Isaiah 41:18 I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
God will make an oasis out of you when people say that nothing good can come from you.
Isaiah 41:19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together,
These are all strong trees and they will be the plantings of the Lord that people will see – plantings in the desert, desolate places.
Isaiah 41:20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
More than one person will be talking about you (they). They will 1. see; 2. know; 3. consider; 4. understand together. Even your enemies will know that God created for you this situation, God created a way when there is no way. The hand of the Almighty is to do it. God brings intervention into your situation. His angels will fight for you. Focus on God, sing, praise, eat, sleep and rest in the truth that God has your circumstance in His hands.
When we are depressed and trying to do things on our own even our favorite food seems tasteless, only when we trust God will things change. God will put good things in our mouth. God wants us to enjoy our life, to have laughter in our mouth. Put off the coat of sadness and put on your dancing shoes. The devil cannot crush your purpose in life. He can’t destroy the plans of God for you. God can bring you out of your oppression.
SURELY implies that there could be delays. Your case has been delayed, but it won’t be delayed forever, only until you reach the end of the time that makes the delay necessary. God is bringing it into your situation.
What do you do during the dry times? You must be in the state of expectancy.
2. WHAT AREAS WILL BE VISITED?
We will be brought out of oppression, any oppression you might be in – economic, crushed by circumstances and God will visit and refresh you and bring you out of the oppression. In the midst of famine he can prosper us. Elijah went to a brook during a famine and hid – God sent ravens (very selfish birds) to come and feed him. They would take meat and bread to feed him. When that time was finished and the brook dried up, God instructed him to go to a widow and stay with her. God will send us to a place called “THERE” and we may not know exactly where THERE is, but if God wants us to go THERE, we need to go THERE. God prophetically positions his angel to meet us THERE. We need to find THERE for that is the place of our victory. If we move from THERE before God tells us to we miss it. Stay where God has placed you and see the glory of God. God spoke to the ravens to provide for Elijah, and had Elijah moved from the brook before God told him to, he would have missed that provision. There was no food THERE, but God provided the ravens to feed Elijah.
The Lord is Lord Almighty and if He says He will do it, He will do it, and provide what we need. Elijah was fed bread in the morning and the evening. God will provide a way, it may not be the way we think it ought to be, but expect that He will do it and He will.
When the brook dried up God sent Elijah from THERE to the widow’s home. The widow was the poorest in Israel. God did not send Elijah to a palace or a mansion but to a poor widow who was ready to feed the last of her grain to her son before they died.
Don’t look at your circumstances, lift up your eyes to the Lord, look at God, and know that He will bring relief to you. Stand now and watch what God does.
The woman gave him water and then was told to prepare a cake for him, feed Elijah first, then herself and her son. Cake has more ingredients than simple bread. The woman did what Elijah told her, and Elijah also told her to FEAR NOT. The Lord wanted to connect her to the supernatural provision through the prophet Elijah. The cake was made with oil and flour. They would not die, for they were connected to the supernatural.
The woman obeyed. The prophet ate the meal, cleaned the plate, and when the woman went to the kitchen the oil sprang up in the bowl and the flour came into the bowl. God made a way.
3. WHEN GOD MAKES A PROMISE WE DO NOT HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW HE WILL DO IT, JUST BELIEVE.
God shall supply all you needs. The widow and Elijah were provided for by the supernatural. Elijah stayed THERE.
We need to know our place called THERE and stay there until we are told to move. Stay there even in the face of economic depression, recession, the market taking a nosedive, or whatever we call it – God can provide for us.
God delivered the children of Israel out of depression and disaster.
God has told us that our enemies will become our footstool. God can help redeem us in any areas. Pastor Danquah gave us a few examples.
AREAS OF FINANCE
Exodus 12:35-36 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
The Israelites were told to ask their masters to give them gold, clothing, and precious jewels. Egypt is the world. World finances, the wealth of the wicked will be transferred to the just.
AREAS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE MESSED UP YOUR REPUTATION.
Favor is the willingness of someone to use his power to help you. God can connect you to a person who will help you rebuild your reputation.
AREAS OF GOING BACK TO THE PROMISED LAND.
God brought the Israelites back to the Promised Land at the correct time – and God wants us to possess the wealth of the world.
How can God visit us.
1. Through His judgment. God judged the Egyptians, there were tempests and plagues. For example the Israelites had light in their camp and the Egyptians were in utter darkness. God can separate you from the enemy by bringing judgment on the enemy. And He can cause the enemy to fall down.
2. Miraculous hand of the Lord. The Red Sea separated for the Israelites to cross over on dry land, but when the Egyptians came they were drowned when the sea came back down on them. We are Covenant children – separate from the World, and God will help you.
3. Destructive hand of the Lord. God will war on your behalf. And as He fights for us, we will be victorious.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Notice that it is LIGHT affliction, a momentary affliction. And God will SURELY visit you.
1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you
The God of ALL grace, watches us suffer awhile, and then when that has made us perfect He establishes, strengthens and settles us. God will visit us, and he will let the circumstances in our lives help mature us.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
SURELY goodness and mercy shall follow us, even if we are in the Valley of the Shadow of Death.
This whole weekend is a message of encouragement, and I have one more to share with you tomorrow.
Praying your day is blessed, and that you soon see the Visit of the Lord.

this is encouragement for me b/c i have felt for a while that God is up to something big. it seems like i began to have troubles before the recession hit. i had a series of miraculous failures which made no sense at all b/c i had trusted in God every step of the way regarding my life, work, etc. he had given me awesome jobs and i was promoted and always knew that it came from him. so it just made no sense when i didn’t get a teaching job that i had been trained for. all the kids, administrators loved me, i was enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to teach, i was overqualified, spoke spanish, awesome recommendations and plenty of connections…but i didnt even trust in those things and still failed. people started to question what i was doing wrong and thought i was foolish to talk about trusting in God “well, it’s not working..” people seemed to gloat over the fact that God did not deliver me. i took other jobs but always kept casting my bread upon the waters. i see now that if i had been teaching, as a single parent, maybe i would not have been as available to my own child as i had been. she had been set apart in the schools and went through a lot of heartache and a health scare, so i now see that while i was not able to be as successful in the world’s eyes, i was successful where it mattered most. i’ll never regret that. but i also think how awesome is it that God has His perfect timing that He would deliver me in the middle of a time when jobs are so hard to come by. praise Him! =)
thanks again for sharing these sermons. they help a ton more than you know. =)
but you know what i would really love sometime. i would love so much to hear how these are working in your life, and how God is doing things with you and your family. i’d enjoy reading about that so much.
very good post indeed..:)
