  • More background for Isaiah by Pastor Don

This Bible study was done on 6/5 and it is part review because there were many newcomers who were not at the previous Bible study and Pastor Don wanted all to begin the study of Isaiah with the same background.  The review is good, we can never review too much when it comes to the Bible, and Pastor Don gave a lot of new information as well.

We live in a world that is physical but there are forces working in the world that are not physical – not all are good.

Pastor Don told us that there are unbiblical words that we use to describe the supernatural forces  such as woman’s intuition, premonitions, deja vous, psychic intuition, etc.

Notice – they have women’s intuition, but not man-intuition.

Biblically we do have access to information that is not normally available in the natural – it is through the Holy Spirit.

A mom will know her child is in trouble, even if there are no external facts about it.

There are spiritual forces in the world working all the time.  Men are slow to pay attention.  Men are focused more on detail.  An example was given about men and women shopping.  Men go straight to what they want to purchase, women like to shop around, compare prices, try things on, etc.

When we sleep or dream, our life is reflected in the dream.  There are voices that speak in our mind and urge us to do stupid things as a result of it.  The supernatural affects the natural.

82% of crimes fall in the age range of 16-24

75% of crimes are under the influence of a drug.

We are more inclined to do stupid things under the age of 30.

If we are convinced by the world that it is psychology and life challenges, we will not have the spiritual discernment to realize that often it is God good – devil bad.

Unless we, as Christians, consent to it, the demon has no authority. If it is supernatural decision there is no fleshly baggage connected with the decision, you won’t have hurt feelings, and there will be no bias associated with the decision.

Sometimes we excuse something as a demonic when we are just trying to get our way.  Even if it isn’t spiritual there will be a problem anyway.

Genesis 6 lets us know where demons come from, and from the time of Adam and Eve there has been a war with the forces of God and evil.

Genesis 6:1-4  Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not striveb]’> saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

EVERY INTENT!!! They did evil CONTINUALLY.  This is a new species of men, descendants of evil seed.  The Bible is its own dictionary.  Who are these sons of God?  What does Jesus say?

Luke 20:34 Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage.

This was 2000 years ago, at the time when Jesus was on earth.  And this will occur until He comes again.

    Luke 20:35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;

After the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ there won’t be marriage.

Luke 20:36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Man is special, he lives in a body and has a soul.  If we drop dead, our brain and heart stop working, and our vessel, the flesh decays when we die.  It has been recorded that when we die we lose weight – 2 pounds 2 ounces (that is how much our Spirit weighs).  Our Spirit leaves our physical body.

Pastor Don told us that when we go to sleep our spirit is still conscious, that spirit is still awake.  If we as a parent were sleeping and there was something wrong with our baby, the spirit would wake us up and tell us to go get the baby.

Pastor Don shared an experience where the spirit woke him up.  He was a passenger in a car coming home from work, and was sound asleep in the car. His spirit told him to wake up, and Pastor Don told us he had a debate with himself, wanting to sleep.  And the spirit told him to wake up NOW.  They were going 55 miles an hour and a flatbed truck was coming toward them in their lane.  The driver of Pastor Don’s car did not see it.  Pastor Don grabbed the steering wheel and spun the car to the right hand lane.  The accident was averted.  His friend who was driving did not see the truck and if Pastor Don had not been awakened by his Spirit, they would have both been dead.

Pastor Don told us that the spirit never sleeps but we forget how to get in touch with it.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but we are spirit beings having a human experience. God will tell us marvelous and wonderful things.

When we die we are equal and can call ourselves sons of God just as Jesus calls the angels.

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God gave us the desires of our heart, and what we do with it is what binds you together.  Are you committed to the desire of your heart?

For example a marriage covenant is a blood covenant. It isn’t about soul mates.  God knows the ones who He could pick for you, and He can direct you toward the right one, but if you choose the wrong person, and marry them, you are in blood covenant with them.  It is not God who gave you the wrong relationship, you just didn’t wait for God’s best for you.

We will all be the Bride of Christ (male and female), and as the Bride of Christ there cannot be a second husband.  No one will be in their prior marriage.  We are all sons of God and Brides of Christ.  There is only one marriage in Heaven.

So where do demons come from?  The nephalim die and the spirits left the bodies, but those spirits were not permitted in Heaven.  They are the offspring of angels and men.

Pastor Don told us to read Jude 6-7  And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

    2 Peter 2:4-5 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

Hebrews 2:5-9 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

God was displeased with the offspring of this mating and the angels were violating the law.  Not only had they rebeled against God but now they had committed gross sin.

We can get into trouble if we act on our own, even if we are trying to do right.

Pastor Don then was asked more about the angels and he told us there were groups of angels, not all committed these gross sins, but they had still rebeled.

The angels rebeled against God. Pastor Don gave us Isaiah 14 to read.  I checked them out and picked the following passages:  Isaiah 14:12-21  “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,a]’> with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

    Strive” (contention)   – abide (fellowship)

The lifespan of a man was cut down from 900 plus years to 120 years.  No one, from the time of the eating of the forbidden fruit lived to be 1000 years old.  The Bible tells us in

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

God told Adam and Eve that in the DAY that they ate the forbidden fruit they would die, and they did not live to be 1000 years old.

God had wanted man to abide with Him forever, but God did not want to strive with man forever.  In the physical, man cannot be in the presence of a Holy God.  God’s brightness and glory would kill him.

God is not bound by our sense of time.  For God a day is as 1000 years.  God is not bound by 24 hour chronos time.  In our struggles God is not looking at his watch, He is waiting for a spiritual change, then God will remove the obstacle.

One of the members of our group said, “Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

We then did the calculation of the 120 years and the year of jubilee – 120 X 50 = 6000.  we are coming up to a period of Jubilee – the Feast of Tabernacles and the trumpets of God are coming.  Every Jewish holiday is tied to an event in the life of Christ.  We are now approaching the 7th day, and the Father is going to come from Heaven and be with us – tabernacle with us.  We are in the 6th day – 6000 years.  Right now it is the year 5769 in Jewish time – but this is not an entirely accurate date, for the Jews left off numbers of years – such as not counting time during some periods of captivity, or when they started counting the reigns of kings.  The discrepancies make us in the 6th day, 6000 years.  And close to Jubilee.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

These are giants.  Numbers 13:22  And they went up through the South and came to Hebron; Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

    The ANAK and NEPHALIM

Numbers 13:33 There we saw the giantsb]’> saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

This was not the case with Enoch, Methuselah, and Noah, for they did not mate with the fallen angels.  Their bloodline was pure.

Chapter 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”

    Noah was blessed by God.

Although this is not part of the Bible study, Pastor Don shared with us the hidden message in the genealogy of Noah – for there were many who had never seen that.

    Genesis 5  V= verse

    V3 - ADAM:  MANKIND

V3 - SETH: TURNED THE FACE TOWARD, APPOINT

V6 - ENOSH: MORTAL, GREVIOUS, SORROW, CALAMITY

V9 - CAINAN: TO LAMENT, TO MOURN

V12 - MAHALALEL: GOD WHO IS PRAISED

    V15 - JARED: COMES DOWN

V18 - ENOCH: TO INSTRUCT, CONSECRATE

V21 - METHUSELAH: TO DIE, TO BE SENT FORTH AS A PROPHET

V25 - LAMECH: TO BE SMITTEN, SCOURGED

V29 - NOAH: TO GIVE REST

    V32 - SHEM: RENOWN

    V32 – HAM: BURNING

    V32 – JAPHETH: WIDESPREAD

Just read the words in bold and from Adam to Japheth and you have the whole salvation story spelled out in the genealogy.

Genesis 6:9  This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

When it says that Noah was a “just” man it does not mean that he was perfect, just that his generations were perfect, his birthline was pure, no nephalim or fallen angels.

Noah did not fall into the sin of Genesis 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Jude 6-8 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.

Sins of Sodom and Gomorrah are on the earth today.  Devils cannot create life, they use a person to do it, possessing a person.

Pastor Don pointed out that no born again spirit filled Christian has ever been abducted by an alien.

    2 Peter 2:4-5  For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

The angels who sinned that Jude is talking about left their proper abode and had sexual relations with those on the earth.  They are now in chains reserved for judgment, they are not on the earth now doing what they did.  There are spirits of demons and spirits of idolatry that are still on earth affecting people, nations have angels and forces in the supernatural that affect the country. We can cast out demons with the authority that God gave us. Of those on earth at the time of Noah, only seven others (8 in all) were saved.

    2 Peter 2:6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

Sodom & Gomorrah was reduced to this kind of sexual sin – the nephalim affected the people.  If you want to find out about that, read the story of Lot (Genesis 19).

Spiritual warfare is by the grace of God and the gifts of the Spirit.  If we try to fight against demons in the natural, if we try to deal with the supernatural enemy in the natural, we will not win, we need to fight with the grace of God and the gifts of the Spirit.

2 Peter 2:7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked

    Filthy conduct of the wicked.

2 Peter 2:8  (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—

    Thoughts and attitudes.

2 Peter 2:9-11 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

What are the hybrids like? God can deliver us out of temptations.

2 Peter 2:12-13 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you,

On earth they are the anak, the nephalim and rephaim.  Where do demoniac come from? Jesus called the demons and unclean spirits anakin, rephaim, etc.  They are hybrids and cannot reproduce.  They are the fallen angels’ children, when they died their spirit had no place to go – they can’t go to heaven and they can’t go to hell where the fallen angels are. They can only be on the earth looking for men to inhabit.  They don’t want to be where God is.  So if you cast them out of a person, you can’t send them to hell and they can’t go to heaven.  You can tell them to leave the room, not come back to the person they are cast out of.  A demon is not a fallen angel, it is a child of a fallen angel.  Jesus cast out the demons from the demoniac and they went into the pigs.  When the pigs died those spirits started looking for another body to possess.

Demons are small, so they oppress people in large numbers (such as a legion of them were in the demoniac).  Familiar spirits are demonic, devilish, and familiar with us and our behavior.  But there are a limited number of demons.  There were massive numbers destroyed in the flood, and now they wait until judgment day.

Not all of the fallen angels are in hell – only those who mated with humans.  In Revelation we read of principalities and powers – those are the fallen angels who still are on earth.  One day God will judge them and they too will be cast into the lake of fire.

    Revelation 20:1-2 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

    This is what will happen.

Revelation 20:3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Revelation 20:7-8 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.

Revelation 9:1-2 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.

Star fallen from heaven (lucifer).  they are angels.

Revelation 9:4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Some are sealed, some are not.

Revelation 9:6-7  In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them. The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.

Men will cry out and seek death,

Revelation 9:11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

Abaddon means destroyer, and he will be cast into the pit with the fallen angels.

Revelation 9:12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things.

God will let them out for a time.

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

We were once caught in this as sons of disobedience, caught in the flesh, children of wrath, people who do not do right, and it is those that are subject to the spirits of demons.

Revelation 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth andc]’> fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

The works of the flesh are EVIDENT – blatant, and they are the things that hurt us.

Galatians 5:20-21 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders,a]’> who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

We need to live our life knowing that, “I’m not guilty.”  We are Spirit filled and Jesus has paid for all our sins already. We have received free grace.

Galatians 5:24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Because you have put it up on the cross does not mean it is dead yet.  We are hurt.  The best thing we can do is give our sins to Jesus, but they may not be dead yet.  The devil will scream at you, trying to get you to claim back your past sins.  You need to say:  I used to be ________, but it’s up on the cross.

Galatians 5:25-26 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Galatians 6:1-5 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.

All sin is sin, if they are overtaken it means that they have fallen and are crushed.  We are to restore them, acknowledging that their sin is sin, but they are to be restored with a spirit of gentleness, in fellowship.  Keep putting it out to them.  Love them.  Let them realize that the decision they made is not so good, don’t leave them too long, for it makes it harder for them to come back.

We took a bit of a side journey to see Jesus restoring in gentleness someone who was in sin in gentleness.

Mark 16:1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.

This was after the crucifixion, the Sabbath was passed and they were going to anoint Jesus.  The preparation day was the day before the Holy Day.

They years 2012, 2013, and 2014 all have eclipses on Jewish holy days.  God is doing something powerful.

Mark 15:42 Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

The year of the crucifixion was a High Sabbath year, so Jesus was taken off the cross on Thursday. This was prophesied in Psalms and Isaiah, how He would be buried. If you do the math to have three days it would have to be Thursday.

Mark 16:2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

They came very early in the morning, right in the transition time between night and day – but it was not yet dawn.  First they went by themselves, then brought friends.  This would have been Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Mark 16:3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”

They were not yet believing that He is risen.

Mark 16:4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large.

The tomb had been sealed with a huge stone and there were guards.

Mark 16:5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

This was an Angel of God, not a man.

Mark 16:6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

    He is risen!!!!

Mark 16:7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.

Notice they were told to tell the disciples – AND PETER.  Peter needed to be told especially because he had denied Christ three times, and needed to be encouraged, so the Angel told them to speak to Peter.

If you are in sin, restore them in gentleness.  Peter was in sin for denying Christ, and the Angel of God went to restore Peter, called him by name to bring him back.

Mark 16:8 So they went out quicklya]’> and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

Instead of changing his attitude and behavior, Cain permitted his anger to be transferred and let his countenance fall.

Pastor Don then pointed out that Hilton (in his testimony) was able not to transfer that anger.  We can get so in touch with ourselves and our emotions (i.e. anger) that it does not have to spill over onto another.  We don’t have to take it out on someone. We are broken because our parents have allowed their stuff to spill over on us.

Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,c]’> against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (13) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (14) Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, (15) and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Verses 13 and 14 tell us to STAND.  Hilton reminded us that Superman had his Kryptonite that made him weak.  For Hilton, his daughter was his Kryptonite.  While Hilton is on the islands, his daughter decided to move back to New York.  He prayed.  In the Spirit Hilton and his wife held it together, but when the flesh rises in us it is a battle.

    Ephesians 5:18-21 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. But that you also may know my affairs and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you;

His wife at one point had a problem with drinking and she was possibly going to go back to that to cope with the daughter moving to New York and making unwise choices.  Hilton reminded his wife where she came from, and then they stayed in prayer, holding together during the battle.

Mark 11:25-26 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

He had to seek the condition of his heart, in the flesh the changes he wanted for his daughter were not manifesting fast enough.  But what satan meant for evil, God turns it around for good.  You can quote Bible verses in your head, but do you believe it in your heart?

Mark 11:22-24 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Hilton had to believe no matter what he saw in the natural, Hilton chose to believe God.  The boy his daughter was with would not let his daughter call home.  Hilton wanted to hurt this boy, but Pastor Don convinced him to wait in faith and pray.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Hilton realized that it was not his life anymore, Hilton’s life belongs to Christ.  He had to put things into Christ’s hands and believe, to overcome the devil by the word of His testimony and the blood of the lamb.

The end result of Hilton staying in faith and praying is that his daughter got hurt by this boy, she escaped and reached a relative’s house, and ultimately ended up back in Hilton’s home, having learned a lesson, and realizing many things that she did not before the circumstance.  Hilton stood on the Word of God and God came through.

Pastor Don then began to talk about what Hilton said and turned it into the rest of the Bible Study.  I will share that with you tomorrow.

    Praying your day is blessed.

  • How your Crisis can lead you to your destiny by Pastor Danquah

Pastor Danquah preached on Sunday the following encouraging sermon before heading back home.  I know that he impacted many lives including mine with his teachings.  We need encouragement at times in our walks because it is true that satan does oppress us.

God has orchestrated all that has happened in your life, and it fits what He has planned for you.  What you are going through now is changing things. What you are going through, as a believer, will ultimately turn to your good.  This may not be true for the unbeliever.  God knows the beginning from the end.  You are in the midst of God’s perfect plan even if it does not seem like it.

Pastor Danquah first brought us to Luke 4.

Luke 4:1-2 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit intob]’> with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

All things work together for Good – even our wilderness crisis, or whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, are orchestrated by God to work for our good.  No matter what satan throws at us, God can turn it for our good. Even our obstacles and challenges God will use to prosper us and they will not kill us.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Don’t brag on your difficult temptation and elevate it, know that the temptation will bring something else.  God will make a way of escape for you.  An angel will help you to escape.  The Spirit of the Lord will help you to pass through your crisis.  If you have no temptation, you will have no testimony.

We are going through a crisis but God is letting that be a testing for us.  The devil does not know everything or he wouldn’t be bringing us into a crisis.  For what satan doesn’t know is that God will use that same crisis to catapult us up.  Would satan have tried to kill Jesus if he knew that the resurrection would follow?    Trials that we face, crisis of finances, health, or circumstances caused by satan, will end up bringing gold out of us.  We are not the only person going through a crisis, but the crisis we are facing will help us end up in our destiny.

Joseph went from the pit to the palace. God used the hand of oppression to prepare Joseph for his destiny.  Joseph was sold into slavery, went to Potiphar’s house, falsely accused and sent to prison, where he was able to prophesy over two other prisoners, and that ultimately led him to Pharaoh’s house where he became Prime Minister.  Pastor Danquah told us that Joseph probably wondered how he would ever achieve the dream that he had, and could easily have lost faith as a slave or a prisoner, yet God used those circumstances to elevate Joseph.

When God gives us a dream or a destiny He does not tell us what is in the middle.  If he did we wouldn’t obey Him, hoping to avoid the challenges.  Because we are a the Child of the Lord, don’t worry about what is tempting us or our crisis.  God is sovereign.

To a Child of Destiny, Crisis is God’s messenger, a prophesying Spirit over our life. Nothing can stop our destiny.  God is not surprised by what happens to us, it will be used to fulfil his purpose for our lives.  Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted.  The Holy Ghost can bring you into a trial.

When you dig up a chunk of gold it does not look like gold, it looks like a dirty stone.  But when it is processed then we see the gold.  We have to go through the process to bring the gold out of our lives. If flour was not mixed, kneaded and put in the oven, it would not come out as great bread to eat.

God is letting you go through this crisis, and it will result in His Glory.

2 Corinthians 12:6-7 For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me. And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

We are sometimes given difficulties to keep us from being prideful.  We want God to lift us up and exalt us without us having to go through the wilderness experience.  But we need to go through the wilderness to reach our destiny.  Joseph went from the pit to prison to the palace.

If we operate in fear through our wilderness experience we won’t reach the palace.  Whatever challenges God is allowing it is so He can build us more toward our destiny.  All things work together for good to those who love the Lord.  God will turn our crisis to good.

We can strategically place ourselves so that God can give us what we need.  God’s supernatural power can give us far more beyond what we can imagine or think.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Paul had a thorn that troubled him and he prayed three times for God to deliver him from that, but God did not deliver him.  God’s grace is sufficient.  God will work out the thorns in our lives to bring perfection to us.  We want to serve God, and in order to do that the best way we can, God has to chip off the rough edges or we can’t be used.  Sometimes a person can draw one person to church, but their attitude or actions pushes five away.  God trains us so that we work better for Him.  God’s grace is sufficient.  He has an angel with us who will take care of us.  God will open our eyes so we can see that.

Notice that we will receive glory in infinity, and we will see God’s grace.  We can rejoice in difficult times for we know that God’s power will help, and God is helping us to deal with our flesh issues. We are in the will of God, and God is over our situations, and we will get to the other side of glory.  Never give up.  God has a miracle for us.

2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Three weeks ago Pastor Danquah was in Toronto and while he was there, God told him that he must die to the flesh, that God will help to kill the flesh.  When the flesh is dead then no matter what a person says or does will not offend you.  We can love them the same, even if they have hurt our feelings, for our feelings would be dead.  If we want to serve in the house of God we need to die to ourselves, for people will hurt you.  God wants to grow and mature you.  Your difficulties will lead to your maturity.  Humble yourself in the school of the Spirit so you do not have to go to summer school.  Don’t delay your progress by fighting against the difficulty – learn what you need to learn and mature past it.  Our flesh delays our promotion.  Promotion comes from the Lord.

Romans 5:3-5 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Tribulation will end us up in hope.  God wants to give us patience so we can grow.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Our outward man will be bombarded, but our spiritual man is renewed day by day.  We will have disappointments, but we are growing in the Lord and becoming more like Jesus. God will build our Spirit up and His Glory will shine through.  When things are difficult, don’t give up, lean more on God and trust in God.  Even in the valley of the shadow of death, still trust God.

Before God spoke the prophesy over you, He knew about the economic crisis that was going to strike America.  God has taken care of the situation.  Don’t let what is happening in our country take away from your dreams.  All things will work together for good.  After a trial we will see the finger of Almighty God.

2 Corinthians 4:17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

The Holy Spirit will lead you to affliction but it will work a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.  what we are going through God calls a light affliction (even if it doesn’t feel light to us).  Only God knows we want to stop, not see anybody.  But it is for a moment – there will be good news, for our affliction is not permanent.  It is for but a moment.  It will end.  Cheer up and know that the Lord is with you, we do not have to go through hard times forever.  There will be a time for good results and we can be happy and be in the Glory of God.  Our crown is coming.  If you fear the trials you won’t have a testimony or promotion.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown in the fire, choosing to worship God, not an idol.   There life is a testimony of their faithfulness.  Our life is a testimony that will be written in Living Word Chapel.

2 Corinthians 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

If you are exercising, say doing sit ups, at first they will seem difficult, but if you do them every day, you will achieve your goal.  You do not look at the present pain, but at your future goal.  If you look only at your pains and trials you will not go forward. Look toward what is not seen, toward the eternal, not focusing on the circumstance or problem.  Look at Jesus and as you look at His face the devil will not be able to distract you.  Know that as we keep seeking and looking at Jesus, goodness and mercy will follow us and we will look toward the eternal things.

There is always a crushing before the anointing.

Exodus 27:20 And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.

The olive is beaten and crushed to produce oil.  God is squeezing the glory out of you.  There oil is on you and the anointing will see you through, you will be blessed.  But before the oil comes out of the olive there is crushing. What if the olives screamed and refused to be crushed?  There would be no oil, no anointing.

Exodus 30:22-25 Moreover the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Also take for yourself quality spices—five hundred shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane, five hundred shekels of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil. And you shall make from these a holy anointing oil, an ointment compounded according to the art of the perfumer. It shall be a holy anointing oil.

There are other spices in this oil, and they too will be crushed so that the glory can be bought out of you.  Your flesh is your biggest enemy and our flesh has to die.

Jesus was crushed and died on the cross, now He is seated at the right hand of God, in glory.  We want to let the Holy Ghost move in our lives and we need to die – then we grow quicker.  Our attitude will drive us away.  God will crush you and bring good things out of you, and then you will display the Glory of the Lord.

Jesus was crushed and trampled before His power manifested.

Luke 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.

Jesus returned from the wilderness in the power of the Spirit.  Then His fame began to spread and miracles happened.  The wilderness will lead to promotion.

Hebrews 5:8-10 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”

Jesus learned obedience.  Pastor Danquah reminded us that he is not elevating suffering, but that when we do face suffering it can help us grow and mature.  God will use it to increase the anointing and to bring countless souls into the kingdom of the Lord.  Our prosperity will attract souls to the Kingdom. Ask God to show us how to bring the anointing to affect people for the Kingdom.

When you are going through a God kind of crises, then God will highly exalt you and change your name.  You will be a rising star and the crisis will cause gold to emerge.  After the crushing your destiny will emerge like gold from the raw metal.

Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When we go through suffering and mature, we will be changed.  God will give us a new name. It takes humility to get promotion.  Crushing will cause death to our flesh.  Jesus went and obeyed the Holy Spirit, fasting for 40 days in the wilderness, and resisting temptation.  God is making a victory and will turn your current suffering int a blessing.

God will show His glory to you as you mature through this hardship.

In Africa when you have a headache you pray for a healing for you do not have the money to go to a doctor or to have medicine to relieve your headache.  In America we tend to reach for an aspirin or seek a doctor.  We do not operate on the kind of faith that is necessary in Africa.  We are too much at ease.

Suffering and crises can help us build our faith.

John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

God can solve your problems for you and that will change your situation as you see your miracle manifest.  Others will see your miracle and then:

Isaiah 41:20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.

These teachings were so encouraging that people went home blessed abundantly.  I pray that they also encourage you and bring you to your victory even in the face of the trial, knowing that God is producing gold in you!

  • God shall visit you by Pastor Emmanuel Eyim-Danquah

Genesis 50:22-25 So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father’s household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years. Joseph saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation. The children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were also brought up on Joseph’s knees.
And Joseph said to his brethren, “I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here
    .”

Joseph was in Egypt, sold by his jealous brothers into slavery.  When the time was right, God orchestrated for Joseph to be put in the place of Prime Minister of Egypt.  This was at a time of economic recession (famine) in the land.  Because of this all of Joseph’s family was brought to Egypt and the family line was preserved until they could go back to reclaim Cainan.

There is nothing new under the sun.

Right now we are in an economic recession and God has made promises for his chosen people.  During this time of recession there are over 30 million in the US without jobs.  But God has made a promise to you, and His promise will be kept.  If everything was smooth and prosperous, we would think that we did things in our own strength.  But God wants us to build our faith up to see what God will do and then God gets the glory.

The people are crying, they have nothing, and as you are blessed then you can be more of a blessing to others.  A beam of light from God is enough to change your situation.  It can let you sleep with princes, work when there is a recession.  God does not change his plans and purposes because we are in a recession.  He can accelerate them.

God makes a promise for Abraham about Isaac.  After the Israelites were in Egypt for a long time, Joseph had to die – to go to heaven.  As believers we will all die and go to heaven whether by rapture or by death.

Joseph tells his family that God will take them and bring them back to the Promised Land, they will not be in Egypt forever.  Egypt is not our promise, it is a temporary place to teach us lessons.  Where we are now in our lives is a temporary situation. At the right time:  GOD SHALL SURELY VISIT YOU.  God meant this, it may not happen immediately, there may be delays and difficulties and we need to stay in faith.  We may not know how God’s promise will be fulfilled, but He will fulfill the promise through our faith.  If you think God gives you a dream and you can fulfill it with your own talents and abilities then it most probably isn’t of God.  God will give you dreams and plans that seem impossible for you to do, and you need to rely on HIM to help you fulfill them.  Sometimes they seem larger than a mountain and the only way to accomplish them is with His help.

In our current situations, financial, physical, healing, ministerial, or whatever difficult situation you are facing God will SURELY visit you.  That kind of visit isn’t God coming and sticking out his hand and saying, “Hi, how are you?”  but it is to change the condition you are in.  Your condition is temporary, not permanent.  You need to mix faith in the process before your miracle or deliverance can occur.

We receive our blessings spiritually before we see them in the physical.  Pastor Danquah told us that our situations will be transformed in three months time.

Exodus 3:7 And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

God has SURELY seen the oppression.  God began to bring his promise that Joseph spoke to his family to pass.  He is going to have an encounter with a young man (80 year old Moses) in the backside of the desert. And just as SURELY God is going to be moving among the people in Living Word Chapel.  We need to remember that God knows our names and He knows our problems.  He sees our affliction.  Affliction causes persistent pain or distress.  No one knows what you are going through, but God does.  The pain is eating the inside of you. The Children of Israel were in Egypt 430 years and persecuted by the Egyptians.  Yet, at the right time God delivered the promise.  God tells them, I have seen your affliction.

God has come to deliver you out of your affliction.  Affliction is a spirit that needs to come out so that we can find joy again.  When we are under affliction we lose our appetite for food and things of life.  The devil afflicts you to destroy your peace of mind.  The devil does not want you to be happy, but we have Jesus who can touch our lives and give us real joy.

We need to be in the Word of God when affliction troubles us.  Put on the whole armor of God, and be strong in the power of the Spirit.  We can bind that spirit of affliction, and end up free, with a sound mind.  God has come to deliver us.

Exodus 3:8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

    These are comforting words.

Exodus 3:9-10 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

God appeared to Moses and told him that now was the time to begin this.

Your ONE DAY is TODAY.  God has SURELY seen your affliction.  God knows our sorrows, and oppression, and how we have been bound.

John 3:38 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Healing is the children’s’ bread.  God will deliver you.  If God says He will DELIVER you, HE will deliver you.

The Egyptians at this time were escalating the burdens on the Israelites.  Know that demons are out to make sure you are uncomfortable, to make you feel like you want to die.  To make you say to yourself I want to go to heaven soon.  But this is not the time. This is not God’s plan for you.

Pastor Danquah told us that one day he was driving and the devil told him that he would die. But while he was driving he heard a clear word from God that told him that he will live and not die.

The demons want your joy.  They want to destroy you, put a spirit of oppression on you to pull you away from God.  Yet God has promised us, “I will SURELY visit you.”

God can make a miracle in dramatic ways or in nice smooth ways.  When the Spirit, faith and the Word are in action, there are changes in our emotions, spirit and body.  God can bring this to Living Word Chapel, to us as well.  He can meet us in prayer, there will be a revival of prayer and he will give us the dreams that we are to pray about.

David prayed to bring his soul out of prison.  When we are desperate and everything seems against us we often don’t pray or pray in tongues and that can cause depression.  God knows you, and will set conditions to help deliver you.

Three questions to answer regarding God’s Visiting us.

    1. WHEN IS GOD GOING TO VISIT ME?

We are a people who want instant everything, and fast responses, but God does not always visit us on our time table.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:

There is a time for your purpose and God knows when that time is.  When God’s time to visit is here, no demon can stop it.

The Children of Israel were in Egypt until God sent Moses to deliver them.  He had a plan for them in Egypt, and when the time was right for them to be set free, God arranged it. God knows the season and the hour for your deliverance.  Our glory is on the way, and restoration will come.  People may laugh at you and your circumstances now, but when God’s timing is right He will put you in the place of elevation in your circumstances.

Isaiah 41:18 I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

God will make an oasis out of you when people say that nothing good can come from you.

Isaiah 41:19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together,

These are all strong trees and they will be the plantings of the Lord that people will see – plantings in the desert, desolate places.

Isaiah 41:20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.

More than one person will be talking about you (they).  They will 1. see; 2. know; 3. consider; 4. understand together.  Even your enemies will know that God created for you this situation, God created a way when there is no way.  The hand of the Almighty is to do it.  God brings intervention into your situation.  His angels will fight for you.  Focus on God, sing, praise, eat, sleep and rest in the truth that God has your circumstance in His hands.

When we are depressed and trying to do things on our own even our favorite food seems tasteless, only when we trust God will things change. God will put good things in our mouth.  God wants us to enjoy our life, to have laughter in our mouth.  Put off the coat of sadness and put on your dancing shoes.  The devil cannot crush your purpose in life.  He can’t destroy the plans of God for you.   God can bring you out of your oppression.

SURELY implies that there could be delays.  Your case has been delayed, but it won’t be delayed forever, only until you reach the end of the time that makes the delay necessary.  God is bringing it into your situation.

What do you do during the dry times?  You must be in the state of expectancy.

    2.  WHAT AREAS WILL BE VISITED?

We will be brought out of oppression, any oppression you might be in – economic, crushed by circumstances and God will visit and refresh you and bring you out of the oppression.  In the midst of famine he can prosper us.  Elijah went to a brook during a famine and hid – God sent ravens (very selfish birds) to come and feed him.  They would take meat and bread to feed him.  When that time was finished and the brook dried up, God instructed him to go to a widow and stay with her. God will send us to a place called “THERE” and we may not know exactly where THERE is, but if God wants us to go THERE, we need to go THERE.  God prophetically positions his angel to meet us THERE.  We need to find THERE for that is the place of our victory.  If we move from THERE before God tells us to we miss it.  Stay where God has placed you and see the glory of God.  God spoke to the ravens to provide for Elijah, and had Elijah moved from the brook before God told him to, he would have missed that provision.  There was no food THERE, but God provided the ravens to feed Elijah.

The Lord is Lord Almighty and if He says He will do it, He will do it, and provide what we need.  Elijah was fed bread in the morning and the evening.  God will provide a way, it may not be the way we think it ought to be, but expect that He will do it and He will.

When the brook dried up God sent Elijah from THERE to the widow’s home.  The widow was the poorest in Israel.  God did not send Elijah to a palace or a mansion but to a poor widow who was ready to feed the last of her grain to her son before they died.

Don’t look at your circumstances, lift up your eyes to the Lord, look at God, and know that He will bring relief to you.  Stand now and watch what God does.

The woman gave him water and then was told to prepare a cake for him, feed Elijah first, then herself and her son.  Cake has more ingredients than simple bread.  The woman did what Elijah told her, and Elijah also told her to FEAR NOT.   The Lord wanted to connect her to the supernatural provision through the prophet Elijah.  The cake was made with oil and flour.  They would not die, for they were connected to the supernatural.

The woman obeyed.  The prophet ate the meal, cleaned the plate, and when the woman went to the kitchen the oil sprang up in the bowl and the flour came into the bowl.  God made a way.

    3.  WHEN GOD MAKES A PROMISE WE DO NOT HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW HE WILL DO IT, JUST BELIEVE.

God shall supply all you needs.  The widow and Elijah were provided for by the supernatural.  Elijah stayed THERE.

We need to know our place called THERE and stay there until we are told to move.  Stay there even in the face of economic depression, recession, the market taking a nosedive, or whatever we call it – God can provide for us.

God delivered the children of Israel out of depression and disaster.

God has told us that our enemies will become our footstool. God can help redeem us in any areas.  Pastor Danquah gave us a few examples.

    AREAS OF FINANCE

Exodus 12:35-36 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

The Israelites were told to ask their masters to give them gold, clothing, and precious jewels.  Egypt is the world. World finances, the wealth of the wicked will be transferred to the just.

AREAS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE MESSED UP YOUR REPUTATION.

Favor is the willingness of someone to use his power to help you.  God can connect you to a person who will help you rebuild your reputation.

AREAS OF GOING BACK TO THE PROMISED LAND.

God brought the Israelites back to the Promised Land at the correct time – and God wants us to possess the wealth of the world.

    How can God visit us.

    1. Through His judgment.  God judged the Egyptians, there were tempests and plagues.  For example the Israelites had light in their camp and the Egyptians were in utter darkness.  God can separate you from the enemy by bringing judgment on the enemy.  And He can cause the enemy to fall down.

    2. Miraculous hand of the Lord.  The Red Sea separated for the Israelites to cross over on dry land, but when the Egyptians came they were drowned when the sea came back down on them.  We are Covenant children – separate from the World, and God will help you.

    3. Destructive hand of the Lord.  God will war on your behalf.  And as He fights for us, we will be victorious.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Notice that it is LIGHT affliction, a momentary affliction.  And God will SURELY visit you.

1 Peter 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you

The God of ALL grace, watches us suffer awhile, and then when that has made us perfect He establishes, strengthens and settles us.  God will visit us, and he will let the circumstances in our lives help mature us.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

SURELY goodness and mercy shall follow us, even if we are in the Valley of the Shadow of Death.

This whole weekend is a message of encouragement, and I have one more to share with you tomorrow.

Praying your day is blessed, and that you soon see the Visit of the Lord.

  • Faith by Pastor Emmanuel Eyim-Danquah

Pastor Danquah has been ministering at Living Word Chapel for 11 years now.  In his facebook page he mentioned relationship is a foundation of purpose.  But relationship is also with the Lord first.  God will connect good people with you, don’t destroy the relationships that God gives you.  Sometimes relationship takes sacrifice.

Yesterday Pastor Danquah spoke about the miracle at the other end of the trial, and how in the midst of that we need to remember God’s presence, God’s promises, and God’s power.

When we take steps in faith and begin to seek our victory and the end of the trial, satan rears his head, and we do not want to succumb to satan’s presence – for us FAITH is the key.

The Spirit of Faith can bring healing to our bodies and it can bring us to the next level. The Holy Spirit helps us with faith.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—oura]’> faith.

FAITH helps us overcome the world.  FAITH will get us through any storm.  When the odds seem against you and difficulties rise, hold onto your faith and confidence in God.

There is victory for you in the areas of health, marriage, finances, relationships, ministry, etc.

Things we need to know about FAITH.

    1. FAITH IS A WEAPON.  Faith helps us to quench the fiery darts of the devil. The devil seeks to intimidate us, but we can remain calm and sleep in the midst of the storm.  If we are without faith we can get fidgety. HAVE FAITH IN GOD, and we can do great exploits for God.  Jesus slept in the middle of the storm.  We can trust God, He is the Lord of our situation.  Jesus walked calmly on the water.  FAITH is a weapon that rises up against anything that is of the world, the world systems, the enemy.  Faith overcomes our bad economic situation.  We walk with boldness, not drawing back. Know that the Lord will supply.

Pastors need faith for daily living and faith for the church so that the church can do what God wants.  God wants you to achieve your purpose.

Pastor Danquah told us that he needed a new van for his church – for the youth.  Yet they had no money for a van.  They prayed and God provided a van from a website, and recently they drove the van home.  Now 50 youth come to the church in that van on weekdays to pray for 1 1/2 hours in the Spirit.  Soon 31 of them will be going to I. V. Hillard’s youth conference.

Believe God that He will provide.

Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Notice that we overcome the wicked, we do not have to be afraid.  We take the SHIELD of FAITH – and that quenches the darts.  It says TAKING – take command, take the shield of faith.  We must gird ourselves with the shield of faith, put it on.  It does no good unless we put it on.

How do we get faith?  Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

As we speak the Word of God our faith is built.  As we hear pastors teach the Word of God our faith is built.  Faith is a spirit, and Pastor Danquah told us that he is imparting faith into our being with his teaching.

Faith takes our fear out of life.  The church has a spirit of fear, and faith gives us boldness so that the devil can’t take what belongs to you.  The devil is a loser, he lost the battle with the Spirit of Faith.  To quench the darts of the devil you must read God’s word to yourself out loud – let your ears hear what God has to say.  Remember faith comes by hearing.

There are attacks on you every day, fiery darts to torment you.  But we have faith as our shield and those darts are sent back to the devil.  We must not be moved by the devil’s deceptions.

Ephesians 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or ask.

When the Master (Jesus) is in the boat with you, you do not need to fear.

Pastor Danquah suggested we purchase the CD of this lesson and listen to the message over and over again. (You can go to Living Word Chapel site and purchase the CD if you wish.)

Our faith helps us reverse obstacles that are sent against us to distract us, hurt our family, our finances.  God has given you the Victory.  Don’t get pulled away by satan’s negative ideas, the devil lost.

Pastor Danquah shared about two evangelists who were on their mission trips. One had taken a room in a hotel and woke up hearing a noise only to discover that the devil was on the couch.  He told the devil, oh, it’s only you, and went back to sleep.  The other one saw the devil in a different situation and also went to sleep.

If you know who you are and the God you are serving, you do not have to be fearful of satan.  1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Don’t let sickness destroy the plans of God.  Don’t let death destroy the plans of God.  Don’t let finances destroy the plans of God.

Before the devil can give you a trial he needs permission from God.  God knows what you need to mature in Him, and God also has already provided you the victory over the situation.

    2. FAITH IS A FIGHT

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Battles are not easy.  Pastor Danquah shared how he was planning to move to a different house but the banks were putting an obstacle in front of him.  His sons had packed their stuff and were sleeping on the floor like strangers in the house.  Pastor Danquah suggested they unpack until the situation is finished, and they told him that you preach on faith, do you believe?  Pastor Danquah believed.  God managed to arrange circumstances so the move went smoothly.

When we face circumstances in the physical, we can also know that there are spirits fighting behind the scenes.  We do warfare in the Spirit.  2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

We want to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  God will not permit anything to overcome God’s children.  We need to confess God’s Word.  Often people think all they have to do is confess the Word for one day, or one month but that may not make the situation change.  Zeal for the Lord has to consume us and we need to keep speaking and confessing His word.  We cannot get lax in this. We can get tired of the struggles of life.  But it is a fight and we have to rise up and fight.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

We can keep fighting our fight because God, our supreme being is behind us helping us.

God is with me in the fire, in the water, in rivers.  We might not see Him, but He is with us.  Our fight will be victorious.  The fight is fixed, and the game is up.  We have won.  It is a fake giant.

The way we win the fight is through Jesus. The devil goes around pretending to be a lion, but it is pretend – all roar and nothing else.  Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

David knew God, so Goliath did not faze David.  He was motivated by a holy jealousy, not wanting Goliath to defy God.  David did not look at the bigness of Goliath, but rather he focused on the bigness of God.  Don’t magnify your problems.

People will try to discourage you, give you wrong counseling – things like leave your husband, you won’t get that job, you aren’t qualified, you can’t get out of this financial mess, etc.  But don’t listen to those lies of satan.  Stay in God’s Word.  God’s Word is powerful and is not affected by circumstances.

David took courage and the giant fell.  In the realms of the Spirit, your giant is the world system, and it is tumbling down in the NAME OF JESUS!  Your giant has fallen down.  Stand and declare that the heavens will establish what we say, changing our destiny by Divine Power and mandate.

    3. FAITH IS A CONDUIT TO RECEIVING THE PROMISES OF GOD

    Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”d]’>) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

    God can quicken the dead

God can quicken anything – the dead, finances, family, wayward children, health, your calling. As Romans 4:17 tells us, god calls those things which be not as though they did.  Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

Love God, have faith in God and you can call those things in your life that be not as though they are.  When you begin to speak the truth of God, not the circumstances in your life people will wonder if you are normal.  When you speak the Word of God in your circumstance people will think you are out of your mind.

When the disciples were in the boat, they saw Jesus walking on the water.  At first they thought it was a ghost.  Peter was in the boat and told Jesus :  Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”  Pastor Danquah told us that he imagined the disciples in the boat were saying, “Peter you are not the Lord.  You will sink.  What are you thinking getting out of this boat?”  etc.

People will try and talk you out of your faith – but believe God.  Step out in FAITH.  Do not pay attention to people’s talking you out of your faith.

But there are a few things to remember.

    1. You have to have heard from the Lord.
    2. Be in the Spirit
    3. When the Holy Spirit places a light in you, even a small light, step out in faith.
    4.  See what the Lord can do.

Peter stepped out and walked on the water.  The water is the world and the things of the world, the world system that we are up against.  Faith and the vitality of God will help you to overcome a problem, a difficulty, and the enemy will not be victorious over you for you walk by faith and not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.  We do not do this by ourselves, God leads us and then we have a testimony of what God has done.

    Faith confession

A faith confession is a statement I make in agreement with the will of God regardless of my circumstances.  We have a choice to look at our circumstances or speak the truth of God.

Genesis 17:1-5 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

God changed Abram’s name to Abraham.  Abram was a name used by idol worshippers.  Abraham means “Father of many Nations.”  God was speaking into Abraham’s life what did not exist in the physical. And God gave Abraham his new name so that He would speak forth the truth of God.  To speak those things which do not exist as though they did.

At this point, even though Abraham did not have many children, God had ALREADY made Abraham the Father of Many Nations before the world was even created, before Abraham was born.  He had already completed the miracle even though it hadn’t manifested yet.

When Abraham would introduce himself and people ask him how many kids he had – they would look at him and say, “Are you normal?”

But we want to be thinking what God is saying about us. Begin to act as if it has already happened.

Genesis 17:15-16 Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

Sarai’s name was changed to Sarah, for she was to be a mother of nations.

Speak what God intends to bring to pass.  Speak in agreement with the Will of God.  Stop confessing your situation.   A good confession is speaking God’s Word.  Angels will hear it and see that it comes to pass.

If you speak a negative confession, demons come and use that against the believer.

God wants you to change your confession.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell

So, when she steps out and she says it, guess what?  The power of faith, that it is in a woman who is expressing by faith her need as a mother, has to be responded to.  Let’s look at it again in the Word.  How many of you are with me now?  [amen]  I know for a minute I lost some of you.  I lost, some of you went, “Where’s he going?  Where’s he going with this?”

But, as this gentile woman shows her faith, she’s got a problem.  And in verse 24 He gives His instructions.  “…I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”  But she says, “Lord, help me!”  Well that’s fine but he answers her again, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”  He’s calling her a dog because she is not of the Jewish faith.  She is not born a Hebrew.  She is considered less, for she is not one of the Children of God.  But guess what, she’s about to become one real quick.

So, He says to her, …”O woman…”  verse 28.  “…great is your faith!”  [amen]

Well, how great was it?  Her faith was great because she understood, watch this now, as a mother’s heart, she understood one under authority, and she understood this next one.  You ready for this?  Responsibility.  Who should be in charge?  The one who accepts responsibility.  Wouldn’t it be terrible if you had someone who’s not willing to accept the responsibility but they want to be in charge?  [that's scary]

Somebody said, “That’s scary.”  It is scary because that’s what we deal with when young people get into their teenage years.  They want to be in authority, but they don’t want to take responsibility.  You know, they want to have the car and they want the money and they want to go and they want to come but they don’t want to pick up the phone and call and tell you where they are.

So, she recognizes, wait a minute, wait a minute.  You are the Master.  You are the Lord.  But Your blessing ability, watch this.  By faith she says, Your blessing ability is so powerful that even a crumb can take care of my need.  [amen]  She’s saying.  “I know that if you throw me a crumb, pow, I have what I asked you for.” Wouldn’t it be, isn’t that great faith?  To know that just a Word from God, just a little crumb, just a little something is more than enough to meet your need.

Ah, somebody say, “He meets my need.”  [He meets my need.]  With just a wave of His hand.  [With just a wave of His hand.]  Or a Word from His mouth.  [Or a Word from His mouth.]  You realize, if Jesus wishes you well, that’s going to be enough?  [amen]  My goodness!

And so she says, “Just a crumb!  Just a, just a small little crumb falls from the table, that’s enough for the little dogs.”  Now, Jesus isn’t calling her a little dog.  You have to understand, He’s speaking in the cultural vernacular of the time.  And He is expressing that by our culture, I’m not supposed to do anything for you.  I’m not supposed to, you’re unclean.  You are a Canaanite, dah, da, dah, dah, da.  And all like that.  But He isn’t bound by our cultural thinking.  Come on, somebody.

He isn’t bound by our small minds.  He isn’t bound by our feelings of unworthiness or our thoughts of rejection or discrimination.  He’s not bound by that.  He’s a much bigger God.  I said, “He’s a much bigger God.”  [yes He is]

So, when we get to this next verse, He says to her, “…O woman, great is your faith!  Let it be to you as you desire.”  And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

A mother needs to gather her children about her.  A mother needs to protect them.  When a mother needs to move, she can move with powerful faith.  Can you say, Mom’s powerful faith?”  [Mom's powerful faith.]  Mom’s powerful faith.  [Mom's powerful faith.]  I want to say something on the side, can I go on a side journey?  [yes]

Moms, I want to encourage you.  I want you to have the faith to realize that if you point the ship of a child’s life in a certain direction, you can equip the rudder that it will hold up when the forces of life are trying to take that child off course.  I raised, you know, my wife and I, we raised three young men.  And we saw that early on, the minute that they stepped out of our house, it wasn’t the minute they got to high school or junior high school, the minute that they stepped out of our house they were bombarded by a different world view.  A different system.  And so, we made a decision that we would make our house the hangout house.  [amen]  Come on, somebody.  Instead of wondering what our friends, who they were, or where they were, all the kids began to hang out at our house.  It was a decision, it was a calculated decision.  And all we had to agree was that stuff is going to get broken, the kids are going to sleep over on the couch and there’s going to be slobber on the couch.  They’re going to make dishes.  They’re going to create dishes, work. It’s going to be stuff.  They’re going to do some stuff wrong, but let our house be the hangout house.  [amen]  You know, let our house be the place where they’re comfortable to come and hear the conversation and talk.

And I sat, many times, just at the kitchen table after they’ve eaten fifty pancakes, syrup flowing all over the place, and just everything. And they’d just sit there and they’d say, “Mr. Moore, what’s with this God thing?”  [come on!]  You know, because why?  They come from these heathen homes and if we just make your house a hangout place, let those heathen kids that you hate come to your house, you can unheathen them.  [laughter]  Come on, somebody.  Anybody with me today?  [yep]  Come on, it’s Mother’s Day, but say “Amen.”  [amen]  Hallelujah [hallelujah]  Yeah, make your place the hangout place.  Let all the kids come, saved and unsaved.  You know, let them have parties at your house.  Let them put up a little of that ungodly music so that you can get a little godly music into ‘em.  Let the friends feel welcome.

It’s like a rudder. You can put a rudder on your child, that even though he might go side to side, he won’t get pushed off course.  [amen]  He won’t get pushed off course.  You know, I did some of those things.  Get in the car and stuff don’t smell right in the car.  The wrong kind of music’s coming out of the CD player, those to me are Frisbees.  [hallelujah]  Frisbees, you know.  My son said, “I’m putting the window down, taking a CD.”  He said, “What are you doing?  What are you doing?  I paid 13 dollars for that.”  I said, “Yeah, son.  It was a $13 Frisbee.”  Phoom.  [laughter]  He said, “What?  Did you throw out my thing?”   I said, “No, I threw out my thing.”  He says, “What do you mean, my thing?”  I said, “Every penny that comes to your life came through me…  My money is Godly money.  This is a Godly car.  You smoking that stuff in this car.  This is a Godly car.  You can’t play that music and do that in this car, with my money.”  [amen]…

Alright, some of you all need to grow up and be parents and stop being the child.  [amen]  Yeah, man.  You’ll come up with some Frisbees.  phfoom.  [laughter]  phfooom.  I said, “You’d better not do this, you keep that in your bedroom.  I’m coming in there.”  [amen]  We’ll have a Frisbee party.  [laughter]  Those things’ll be flying.  You know, he started cleaning up what he was listening to?  [amen]  Cleaning up what he’s listening to.  They came home one day, we had, remember when digital TV came out?  We had a dish, a dish came on.  I saw my son sitting on the floor in front of the TV.  I’m trying to figure out, I said, “What are you guys doing?”  They said, “Daddy, there’s some stuff on here you shouldn’t see.”  [laughter]  We’re going to program the TV’s so it doesn’t go there.  [laughter]  Come on now.  [amen]  Huh?  What are you talking about?  They programmed that thing so it wouldn’t go to those channels.  [amen]

Now, why?  That’s because my wife put a rudder on them, that said, this is right and this is wrong.  This is right and this is wrong.  And she didn’t back up on it…[amen]  She didn’t change just because the culture was changing, or people around her were changing.  She said, “No, son.  This is right and this is wrong.”  Don’t change because of what’s popular.

I don’t care how many times Obama says this is not a Christian nation, you keep telling your kids it is.  [amen]  And keep them on course.  I don’t care how many times they say, you hear the words, intolerant.  What’s the other ones they use on us?  Judgmental, intolerant.  You tell them, “Yes, there’s some stuff I won’t tolerate and I’m going to judge everything.”  [amen]  [hate crime] Yeah, hate crime.  The truth may become a hate crime  in the United States of America but it will never be a hate crime in the Kingdom of God.  [amen, hallelujah]  Amen.

So we have two things, mothers what?  Need to gather but how do they do it?  They have powerful faith.  Come on, every woman say, “I have powerful faith.”  [I have powerful faith.]  I have powerful faith. [I have powerful faith]  Notice, Jesus says, “As thou wilt, let it be done.”  Don’t give up on what you’re believing for for your children.  [amen]  I don’t care what sickness or mental difficulty, I don’t care.

We have members of the church that prayed for their children, they’d say, well, you know, they brought their child to me, and said, this kid is ADDDQDADADADA.  [laughter]  I said, “Well, the Lord is God over ADQDADADA.  We prayed, and that mother, that mother today will come in here right now and give a testimony that her kid just got better and better and better and better and better and better.  Right?  So don’t believe that.  You diagnose my kid is QDADAZAD.  You believe that the power of God can change the mental electronic circuitry of the brain as the child grows and he’ll grow out of that.  [amen]  Come on now.  [amen]  Yeah, you don’t believe any….don’t believe that any disease diagnosed by man is a permanent condition that God can’t change.  [amen]  Come on, sister.  And you just believe, my child, my child’s gonna be fine.  Amen.  Because why?  You’re a mother.  You have powerful faith.  [amen]  It’ll be done as you declare it.

In Matthew, Chapter 20.  … Matthew, Chapter 20.  I don’t have enough time today to give you this whole sermon.  But, trust me, it was fabulous.  [laughter]  I just have to hit the highlights and move on.  But as a father, I’ll sacrifice what I want to do so that the babies can get their thing out.  And it was worth it.  I have no problem with it.  In the 20th chapter of Matthew, verse 20.  Matthew 20:20… “Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him…”  to Jesus  “…with her sons…” now this is momma.  She is bringing her sons who were disciples of Jesus and she’s bringing them to Jesus.  And “…kneeling down…”  She kneels down before the Lord, “…and asking something from Him.”  Now, Jesus looks at her and He says, “….What do you wish?”

See, He knows the power of the faith of a mother.  So He responds.  “What do you want, momma?”  “She said to Him, Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”  Lord have mercy.  It’s getting good.  “But Jesus answered and said,…”  Mom, “…You don’t know what you ask.”  And He looks at the boys and He says, “Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”  Watch this.  “They said to Him,… “We are able.”

Where in the world did that faith come from?  That these two young boys, these two young men are gonna say to Jesus the Christ, who has already told them I’m going to go to Jerusalem and I’m going to be scourged of the Gentiles and crucified of the Jews and I’m to be spit upon and rejected.  And they have the boldness that came from their momma.  [right]  Lord have mercy.  And it got through to them.

Women need to gather their children together to them.  Women need to what?  Exercise powerful faith.  But also, a mother has what?  Great boldness concerning her fruit.  Great boldness concerning her kids.  The most timid mom will stand down the principal of a school if she feels her child’s not been properly treated.

I’ve seen little meek little mommas get before a head surgeon and say, “If you don’t…”  [laughter]  “do the best you can do, and they don’t wheel my kid back out here, I’m going to let you know about it.”  I’ve seen little, I saw a little mom once, now I’m sitting on my big bulldozer, sitting on my big bulldozer doing a contracting job.  And she comes out there, [laughter].  “Mr. Moore, you better not run over any of my kids toys out here, with that big bulldozer.”  [laughter]  And I thought to myself, “what!  Is she joking?  [laughter]

You know.  I can remember taking my bulldozer and moving a rock and running over the corner of one measly plant.  [ha!, laugher]  One measly…and this little mother comes down her driveway, put her hand… “Don Moore!!!!  Get that machine out of my garden!”  [laughter]  So mothers, boldness, strong faith, a need to gather.
