  • My friend, Julie Evans, wrote a poem that she said she got after hearing my teaching last night. It blessed me to know that it reached others. Here is the poem.

There’s A Monster In This House

    by Julie Evans

I was right when I was a kid

I knew there was a monster

    in my house

    I knew it wasn’t safe.

    The people in charge,

    aka my parents,

    couldn’t see the monster

    because he had cleverly

    gotten inside of them.

    I spent more time

    placating that monster

    than I spent

    being a kid

    or than I spent

    growing up.

    I was the peacekeeper.

    It sounds fantastic

    and important

    but it’s crippling

    and horrible.

    The monster that upset

    the peace

    doesn’t get moved

    he gets fed and

    put to bed.

    I would bounce

    from one trauma

    to another

    like a medic,

    but I was only

    four feet tall.

    inspired by Heather’s teaching February 7, 2007

Julie said this poem was a response to Pastor Ted’s Sunday sermon.

    It’s Time To Move

    by Julie Evans

And today the Word of God

    went forth and that Word

    contained instructions.

It said get ready to move,

    leave your nets behind

    and come follow Me.

    It’s time to move

    from a critical spirit

    to a spirit of compassion

    It’s time to move

    from doubt to faith

    from sickness to healing

from the natural to the supernatural.

What you may thought was your occupation

may just have been what occupied your time

    up until now.

You are no longer who you were

so you no longer are to do what you have been doing.

    You’ve been changed

    You’ve been called from something

    and into something new.

    You’ve been given the keys

    to the Kingdom

but do you know where they are

and do you know what they are.

    Let me remind you.

    The keys to Kingdom

    are faith in Christ

    and knowledge of Christ.

It’s time to use the keys

to go set the captives free

to go and heal the sick

    to speak freedom and hope

    to those in need.

It’s time to trust that provision

    will not run out

that weapons do not have authority

    to harm you

    and know deep inside yourself

that God is who He said He is

and will do what He said

    He will do.

    It’s time to move

to get rid of all that junk

that isn’t you and isn’t yours

and doesn’t serve you or Him or me

as we step up, step out and step into power and authority.

    It’s time to move

    Leave your debts

    your customs

    and your rituals

    behind.

    And enter in

    be a partaker

    of His Divine Nature

    which is the Kingdom

    the Power

    and the Glory

    forever and ever.

    amen.
