  • Back from dropping my daughter off, it took so long to drive there, and the check in was pretty archaic. I am certain she is having fun at this camp, it is an environmental camp. Of course, with the kind of rain we are having, I am wondering if her environmental activities might include ark building and saving the animals two by two. I am praying she has a few sunny days or she will be cold, wet and not having so much fun.

    Have a blessed day,

  • If she saves animals two-by-two that “would” be environmentally safe!!  ryc, this is the second pastoral change we have had in 3 years, the previous Pastor was there for 6 years following a 24 yr stint….we are looking for someone that is willing to grow with us and I think this Pastor will accept, the vote was all for and none against…we shall see.

    Be Blessed,

    Mike

  • RYC: Thank you – and thank YOU for supporting her in this time of need.

  • I hope Jim’s computer challenge was met with the grace and wisdom of God! I’d much rather take a hammer and start pounding on them sometimes! :o )
I’m sure rain or shine, kids away from home will find some way to have fun! Sounds like a blast to me… I wonder if they need chaperones!

  • RYC:
Heather, I agree with you 100%.  the point really isn’t to berate other Christians but to find out what has hurt others and how to minister to them.  I feel that most ministeries are missing the mark and not reaching a ton of people because they don’t understand them.   We won’t understand them if we don’t allow a forum for them to be themselves and just let it out.  Actually, I have found that to be the biggest hinderence is that for the most part Christians don’t relate – so a bigger and stronger wall is built.  I have had this happen to me over and over in my ministry – I am talking one language (“Christian”) and they hear another, politely respond and never come back.  If you have suggestions on how to reword this and still speak the language of those we are trying to reach, please let me know – honest.  I came up with this talking to a young man who is very upset at church people and one step away from walking from God.  The thing is, he is talking and telling them how they are hurting him and yet no one is listening.

  • What’s a comforter? Isn’t that another name for the Holy Spirit or something? Does he make beds? But seriously, what is a comforter? Maybe I should do a google search…

  • Awwww… I hope that she gets a few sunny days as well. I love rain, but it sure does take the fun out of camp and vacations! I would covet your prayers for us as we move Liza (our oldest daughter) to Atlanta the end of the week. I’m excited for the way that the Lord is leading her, but I know that it will be emotionally draining as well. It’s kind of cool how we already see how He is giving her some connections in the city where she knows no one. In times like these its nice to be the child of The Father who knows EVERYONE and specializes in building relationships.

Heather, I pray you have a most wonderful week. ~Sherry

  • Thankfully, kids are able to have fun no matter what the weather….yay!

  • Sure, by all means stick around, but I make absolutely no warranties as to how entertaining or otherwise informative my Xanga will be. :D

It’s good to meet you, and I look forward to getting to know you.

  • I had a great time when my daughter went to camp.  It was “me” time.  I hope you have a great week.  Enjoy some “me” time. RYC:   Glad you liked the post.  I’ve wondered the same thing about the ATMs.  Every time I drive up to one and see braille on the keys I wonder “who uses this?”  Happy summer!

  • yes, how i cherish the leisure and caring will to do the little things that matter so much; did it rain in NY like it did in the DC area?
