  • Happy Sunday, I got up early so I figured I would check in before church.

Was browsing my blogrings that I subscribe to and came to idealistictravellers. He put something on the first sentence of his entry (and his entry was good) that will radically change my reading of some of your blogs.

Sometimes when there are pictures it is hard, hard, hard to decipher words. I never knew this, but if you just mouse over the words and highlight them, they then stand out from the background. Now I will be able to focus on what you are saying without eyestrain.

Here is one pet peeve of mine, but please do not take it personally, I would much rather you do what is pleasing on your site, but I wish Xanga would be able to create a command that would allow someone to read sites without music playing. I know that music is a personal way of setting your site apart, but sometimes it is tough when I am trying to listen to something off of the internet and browsing websites, and the music stops what I am listening to. So I have to read your site, then go back and re-start up what I am listening to. For what it is worth, that is why I seldom put music on my site, so that you do not have to deal with that.

  • Thought I’d put a comment here instead of the other post which has comments that are old.  My church is a Christian church but used to be a cult.  We used to keep all the Jewish holy days, passover included. Only we took communion at that time instead of having a Seder.  I understood a lot of what you were saying…and we used to clean out all the leaven from our homes every yeart right before Passover.  Oh what a job that was.We came to the conclusion that was legalism and the New Covenant made all that unnecessary so we now celebrate Easter, with a Maundy Thursday service including footwashing (based on what Jesus did).  Happy Sunday to you and yours.  Gerrie

  • Thank you for your comment.  Yes, the church I am in is the same denomination I entered at age 17, but it is not the same church it was.  We left legalism and now embrace grace and the love of God, Easter, the Trinity, etc., and I am so very happy.  The good of it was that after keeping the “old covenant” traditions and coming into the NEW covenant, you appreciate the grace and freedom in Christ so much more, and understand some of the analogies in the Bible.  You have a blessed Sunday, Heather!  Gerrie

  • Hi Heather, I have had the same problem, but discovered (through just trying it) that method for reading the sites. I also feel the same about music. I love music, so I have it on quite often as I’m browsing. I often have to pause my own music. Sometimes I really like the music on others’ sites — the first time or maybe even two . . . but it can get old fast. Some people have controls on the site, so that the music can be muted or paused. Now if I can figure out how to do that, & maybe if I can find a control so that people can even choose what music to listen to — someday, I may have music – until then, I just put links in my messages to music (& other things) that pertain to what I’m saying! Whew!! Did you get all of that?  Hope you had a great service . . . we did, too!  Carolyn
