The sixth seal is one of the reasons that I feel that the events in Revelation have not occurred yet. In Chapter 6:12-17 there is a great earthquake, the sun becomes black as sackcloth of hair and the moon becomes like blood. The stars of heaven fall to the earth, and the sky exceeds like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
The kings of the earth, great and rich men, commanders, mighty men, slaves and freemen will hide themselves in caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and say to the mountains, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!” For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand.
Oh there is so much in this. Yes we have had earthquakes and serious storms, but nothing that has moved the mountains and islands out of their places. The only think that came close was the Tsunami and that tilted our earth’s axis a bit. Never has the moon been like blood.
Some point to this passage and then point to Revelation 15 and the bowl judgements where the wrath of God is complete. In the 7th bowl the islands flee away and the mountains are not found, and an angel announces that it is done meaning the great day of God’s wrath is done.
Some might ask how can there be two days of God’s wrath, and I suggest that you consider the source of the pronouncement. In the seal judgement the men on earth are announcing that this is the great day of God’s wrath, but in the bowl judgements the pronouncement comes from heaven. I do not believe that the seal judgements are God’s wrath, although he did start intervening here with the signs and wonders in the sky.
So often today people speak of wicked weather, God’s judgement being part of natural disasters, but these disasters are not of God, but of man, his ways, and satan. With the seal judgements, these are judgements that are the repercussions of what man did with earth, and Jesus was reclaiming the title deed of earth (see the scroll study), and while the repercussions of what happens is severe, you will see that they will escalate through the trumpets and the bowls,
Luke 23:28-31 Jesus talks about the last days, and tells the daughters of Jerusalem, the Israelites not to weep for Him, but to weep for them and their children, for in v. 30 “Then they will begin to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”
This same statement is made in Hosea 10:8 in regards to Samaria, about the high places, and the sin of Israel shall be destroyed, and they will say to the mountains “Cover us!”..
And yet, God will save a remnant of Israel. Yes, I know this is a bone of contention among the Revelation theorists, some say Israel lost her chance when she rejected Christ, but all the studies I have done point to Israel being saved, at least some of them who get their eyes opened. God will not desert his children.

And now for a completely different note, I heard a teaching on the radio that I want to check out, but it is so interesting to me, I was wondering if any of you had heard it.
When Adam and Eve left the garden, they traveled eastward, and all the major cities were to points east. It wasn’t until Abraham and his covenant, that Abraham started moving west per God’s instructions, and that was when God could bless his obedience.
Have you heard this? I have to do my homework and pull out a map and plot some of these moves to see if this is so.

Also, thanks for your prayers. Things have calmed down somewhat. My daughter is going to science olympiad tomorrow, so it is early to rise. Then we have to travel 1 1/2 hours to pick her up to meet an evening comittment, but at least she will not have to let her teammates down by not being their for the science projects she worked so hard on.
Please keep me in prayer, as I seem to be sorting out a few issues, not sleeping well, and struggling to try and stay on diet. Depression is an issue that I have to keep speaking out about.
Today we had an interesting Discipleship Bible study that I may share some notes about with you tomorrow. It was an intense study.
Have a blessed weekend, I want to touch base with your sites over the next few days.

so what do you think of this then .. I was vaccuming and GOD told me to go look up katrina.. and it means HOLY and Pure.. Yes I agree about where GOD says he will save some of his children as two years ago he gave me a word and to studie amos I believe that chapter 8 and 9 go with this teaching.. I guess from what I see never heard of wicked weather lol.. but GOD is the one whom tell the wind to blow and what have you.. he commands it.. by sending out his angles.. Not satan.. hmmm lots to studie on this area. I do not claim I am a expert on this .. I only know what I have read and studied so far and what God has shown me.. I always so so much to studie so little time.. Every time that I read though my eyes are open more.. God bless your weekend as well..
Well, in several places in the new testament, Christians are referred to as children of Abraham, “spiritual Isreal”, etc….so the thing about saving Israel might be part physical part spiritual. Not for us to figure out, though, it’s all in God’s hands. As for “wicked weather”, there is a placw where Satan is called the prince of the power of the air… I think it’s “all of the above”: weather is wacky because of what we’ve done to the planet/enviornment (i.e. global warming, etc.) — also Satan can cause stuff to happen (prince of the power of the air) — and of course God is ultimately in charge of our weather.
Revelation is an interesting study but I refuse to be hung up on it because it’s all in God’s hands and timing anyway, and I have a lot to “do” myself, like grow to be like Christ, pray, study all of the word, serve the church, family, etc., so it’s almost a “mind your own business you have enough to worry about instead of worrying about other stuff”. The church I belong to came out of a cultish existence, part of which was being all hung up on the premise that we had “special knowledge” that helped us understand prophecy better than anybody else. We were wrong. So I really don’t want any dejá vu…
Blessings on your weekend, Gerrie
Sections #1: As always, thank you for your godly insights. #2: Very interesting. New to me; Something to look further into, as you said. #3: I’m praying for you right now. God bless you, Heather. Loving prayers - Carolyn
Gerrie, I am glad that your church has changed, you are right, no church has “special knowledge” that helps to understand prophesy better than anybody else. Right now I am sharing the results of my Bible reading and study, it has been a long trek of almost 4 years and began in Genesis, now I am at Revelation. When I finish Revelation, it’s back to Genesis for me. A lot of what I am sharing comes from a special Bible study that I did using Kay Arthur sorcebooks, and her premise is to take the Bible at it’s word, and compare scripture to scripture. Our next study in a few weeks will be the book of Ruth.
There is much richness in all the Bible, and all can help us to grow. And for me, I find Revelation important in learning more what Jesus has in mind for me in my own personal life, it is not all gloom and doom stuff.
Very soon the 144,000 and the two prophets will be being mentioned, and it is from that and other Old Testament verses that cause me to believe that God has not given up on Israel, and at the point that we are in Revelation, the church is already in heaven (chapters 4 & 5), so the Spiritual Israel is already dealt with. But God does not make empty promises and all through the Old Testament he promises that He will not forsake Israel and will preserve a remanant.
I don’t know if you have read any of my previous comments on Revelation, but one of my premises is that there are many opinions about Revelation, and it is not something that should be dividing the church. The truth be told the end result is God wins/satan loses. And God will make things come out righteously. I am just sharing the fruit of my studies, and if they bless someone good, if they are not relevent, that’s ok too. Mostly I write a Xanga for me. But it sure is fun to share ideas with others too.
Heather
Heather,
What can I say? Your testimony blew me away!! And God has delivered me from years and years of pain from bad choices…but even I didn’t go through what you’ve been through. Your testimony is a part of your ministry, I can tell you that with certainty. God allowed you to go through those things when you were younger because he knew you would get through it. He foresees everything. Not only that, He made you…so He knows you intimately and personally. He knew you could handle a lot and knew that you would be a great beacon shinging in a very dark world. Keep you the awesome work lady!!
May God bless and keep you always!!
Johnna
Dear Heather ~ your discussions on Revelation have been very interesting…my father (a pastor and Bible teacher) loved eschatology…I miss his wisdom and knowledge on the subject. Thankyou for your thoughts and for sharing…I have never heard that about Adam and Eve, but would be interested to find out…I am sorry about your depression, I am dealing with some of this myself (I think it is the premenopausal thing and/or hormonal changes). Also, I am going through some trials that are very hard right now…I will remember to pray for you. Take care and God bless. ~ luv, jenny
Heather I will pray for you and what you are going through. And as always love reading your study on Revelation. All books of the Bible are to be studied, not just the uplifting ones, the gloomy ones as well, for they are God’s word and will take place at some point. I know I took out of Revelation so much! Ruth is another great study! Our church is doing Daniel and I wish I had the time to put into it as it ties so much with Revelation.
Thanks so much for your kind comment. I’m really impressed by all you’re writing, you just lay out the facts and don’t try to “interpret” them. Like I said, my history makes me a little sensitive to “overkill” in the prophecy department. So you’ll find some days I’m “up for” reading your posts on Revelation and other days I just am not, so I wait and read it later when I am up for it. It’s an awesome study guide you’ve put together:) Love always, Gerrie
My job has changed someone and my access to a computer has been limited. My beta model at home is a pain. I am so glad I had some time today to visit the Xanga’s worlds I love. This was a great post and I needed it so much!!!!! Thanks for sharing. I was also able to chance up with some of our other posts. Thanks for doing Revleations, it can be so scary. Be blessed.
Dear and precious Heather,
God will indeed bless you for your study of His Word…You are touching many! As you sort through these issues, lean on the truth that He loves you dearly and is hard at work despite what your physical eyes see…Set your gaze upon HIM, ever looking into the light of the truth of who HE is, and know that I, along with many others, are lifting you up to the Father.
With MUCH love,
Paula
“I love the Lord for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He has turned His ear to me, I will call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2
Heather ~ thanks, as always, for your comment! You’re so encouraging, and I don’t always get a chance to say thanks. I do appreciate it! Also, I am praying for you and your struggle with depression. It’s a difficult journey, I know, but let God’s light brighten the dark corners!!
Peace!
Hey Heather! LOL.. that is SO true about the magazine thing…I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.. and I have been enjoying your posts on Revelations!! Hugs!!
Cain went east, the bible does not say that Adam and Eve moved anywhere. By Genesis 11 all human beings are located on the plane of Shinar. Abraham lived in Ur near modern day Bagdad. And God chose him before he moved anywhere. Just what it says.
Hi Heather. Thanks for your comment about Xanga. I enjoy how you always share what you’ve learned.
