Our trip to Montauk as summarized by my husband, Jim:
We are back from our camping trip to Montauk and I’ve just started the process of downloading the pictures. You’ll be forced to see them at some point. Besides good memories I brought back a fractured ankle. The crutches I got yesterday are supposed to be my companions for the next six weeks. I’ll try to find some way so reduce that estimate. Everyone else survived in better shape. It is good to be home again.
Please pray for him that this hairline fracture heals very quickly and well, as he is not being a good companion to his crutches or his air cast. And we have to see MD on Monday. We need that ankle healed quickly, the fishing trips the kids are counting on are in jeopardy.
When we get our pictures in a reasonable format, I will share a few. Tonight we had some excitement as a big black bear wandered through our back yard. He found our compost pile, sigh.
I am going to ask for prayer for myself as well, lately my patience has been stretched. Could be the camping and worrying about Jim, could be three teenagers, but I am not liking the kind of temper I see emerging. I have been praying for help to settle this, and am trying with God’s help to put that into control, but patience is not a virtue I am exhibiting right now. I hope God helps me to deal with this quickly.
Have a great Sunday.
Heather

Patience is very difficult, I think. I have a very specific, very personal thing that I need to be very patient about, which is why it’s on my mind enough to post what I did today. I see from your entry, here, that it is difficult for you as well at times…
Anyway, thanks for the subscription. I’ve done the same. It’s helpful for me to see mature Christians dicuss their faith. If you don’t mind my asking, how long have you been a Christian? Also, what gender are your children? Just curious. I have a six year old daughter, named Grace.
It’s great to meet you, and my God heal your husband quickly. AMEN.
Praying for you.
OY! John Jr. broke his ankle this week too! WHAT are these guys doing?!
I will pray for him…I hope the doctor visit goes well.
Glad you’re home safely! ~Denise~
P.S. - After reading your post again, I thought I’d point out that the reason I posted Pipers comments is that I find them to be so unlike everything else I hear and read.
I recognize that we serve God, and that he is our Lord, and that God’s purpose is not to just sit around and give us whatever we want. But Piper points out consistantly that God CHOSES to consistantly put HIMSELF in the role of the servant, becuase it brings Him the most glory.
It’s not that I don’t think we’re a slave to Christ; I do! I just find Piper’s thoughts so profound and unique that I post them. I think he’s saying true things that many sincere Christians don’t know.
Praying for you!!!!!!
love ya!!!
Praying for peace.
Thank you for the comment, i will for sure miss my dog, God blesses us with these neat creatures he has made that bring joy and love into our lives. hello!
how old are your three kids?!
We have had a zoo here over the years also. At one time all the cats in the area would come to our house. We have 2 inside calicos who are sisters, there were 4 outside cats(who now are down to 2)4 birds(down to 1)a rabbit, also a leopard gehko, and 2 chinese water dragons. We had 5 guinnea pigs at one time also. Along with our dog. All of our critters are getting on in age and i am not sure what we will do as they pass away. I have 2 kids, 20 and 17 so we have always had an assortment of friends over to keep the house full. I am not sure right now if i will be getting another dog yet. Well best get off to work. Have a great start of the week. The Lord bless you and guide you with taking care of your family. And may He give your husband a speedy recovery. Yep he needs to take it slow and easy and not make it worse or it will take longer to heal. Be strong in the Lord and His wisdom…yer bro. (m)
<33 Love Always,

I am sorry to hear that Jims ankle is worse than anticipated. I hope he stays off it enough for it to heal.
I will also pray for you and your spirit. It is not always easy to stay calm in the face of life….
Thanks for being such a true and consistent friend Heather. You are very special to me….
I need to get caught up on your Bible study posts soon!
((hugs))
No fun. He’ll be hurting for a while now… ((shakes head)) Too bad!
Hi Heather……praying for you and family!!!!!!!!!
Hi Heather…I can relate to your post! When our daughter fractured both of her ankles (growth plates), one after the other during the last soccer season, it really put our lives in a different mode! It’s hard when a family member is kind of “disabled” for a while.
Father God, I lift up Heather’s husband Jim to you that his ankle will heal quickly. I know that he wants to get on with the business of being a dad and husband and does not want to be a burden to anyone. You are the Great Healer, Lord! I lift up Heather to you, Lord, that she may give all her concerns, impatience, and worries to You as the family is put on hold here for a little while. We love you God and we pray in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
Thank you for your comment on my xanga.
I’ll keep you in my prayers regarding patience. I know that the combination of the things you spoke of would stretch mine too.
I’m looking foward to seeing your pictures!
God Bless!
~ Tami
Heather,I hope you had a good report yesterday.I do know if the patient is compliant healing takes place! Frustration is a wonderful source of my anger,I hope the Lord gives you peace.Praying for that!
Heather
I’ve held off saying this because I wanted to be sure it was verified by the docs, but MY SISTER-IN-LAW IS DOING BETTER,SHE’S ACTUALLY BEEN UPGRADED FROM STAGE FIVE TO STAGE FOUR! And you,Heather, were the ONLY one I can remember who was saying we should pray for her healing, and not just “resign ourselves” to the “inevitable.
I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU MORE THAN TWO E-PROPS…..YOU DESERVE ‘EM!!!!!
Chet
Ohhh, my hubbie broke his ankle7 or 8 years ago…he was no fun to be around. I will pray for your patience and for your husband’s healing!!!
