  • Just a quick note before I wake up the family. I will write out a Bible study later today. Today is teeth cleaning day, sigh. My husband’s favorite dentist is in New York City, so we will be driving there, we are about 3 hours outside of the city. All five of us are having our teeth cleaned, so it could be a long time in the office.

Jim still has a hurt foot, but will the man seek medical help? Nooooooo. He gets a massage from someone at our church and she even told him to get it checked out, there may be a hairline fracture. I am praying for wisdom for him.

The problem for me is that while he can drive, as it is his left foot, he told me that he wants me to do some of the driving. Jim, as much as I love him, is the WORST backseat driver in the world, and I am shaking just thinking of him sitting there commenting. I am afraid of the bridges and toll booths, as the traffic is heavy and crazy. I do drive well in local conditions and certain highways, but usually it is just me and the kids. sigh.

Please PRAY for Jim’s foot, and for my driving today. Pray for wisdom for Jim. I know God can heal the foot, but if it takes the extra help from a doctor, I pray that Jim will deal with that.

I should also point out (no offense to any of you who are dentists) that dentist visits terrify me. Of course not going and those results terrify even more, and this dentist is the most gentle and sweet woman there is. If you live in New York City or near there, her name is Dr. Cortez, and she is sort of a naturalistic dentist.

  • Praying for you at 5:23 a.m. in Oregon…. so 8:23 your time.  Trust the drive and ‘visit’ will be surprisingly (not really, you’ve asked people to pray) good.

  • Praying for you today! I avoid dentists at all costs!

  • Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I want to be completely sold out to God. It’s amazing how often I find myself selling out so cheaply otherwise.

  • I’m praying, too…!

  • Bridges and tolls.  Yes, we’re experiencing that a lot lately.  Coming home from DE last week, as he was getting off the Verazzano Narrows Bridge, Joe meant to take the Belt Pkwy, but ended up on the BQE instead.  It’s really not horrible, and if he didn’t panic, he wouldn’t have gotten lost.  I can understand the panic though; I wouldn’t want to be on the BQE either.

I understand your dislike for dentists.  For me, it’s having to relinquish control of my own person to another.  AAAGH!!!  I’m just as bad with the doctor.  Praying for a peaceful drive and for taking the opportunity to rest and RELAX in a comfy chair (this is the pot talking to the kettle, I know).

  • Lord, I pray that You would go before Heather and Jim and their family, and prapare the way for what YOU have planned today! May You pour out Your love on this family today, and cause there to be Divine appointments. Let this day be surprisingly uplifting, and give grace for whatever challenges they may face. Especially Lord I pray for safety, and also for this to be a time of good fellowship and communication for Heather and Jim, and the children! Have Your way Lord! Becky in KY :)

  • Dentists scare me too! You don’t even know! But the one we go to is great plus his assistant is one of my best friends! I get braver each time I go! I’ve had to go a lot over the last few months. You will be fine at the dentist…the Lord will take care of you!..I will be praying for your hubby, men can be stubborn!
