Month: July 2005

  • Still notes from the last day of the prophesy conference.

Here are some of the indicators of the beginnings of the end times.

    1. Return to Israel by the Jewish people May 14, 1948   Ezekiel 11:7 – this started the time clock again.

    2. Pure language for the Israelites – Elizabor Ben Yeheuda (sp) insisted that Hebrew be the official language of Israel. This is the first time in the history of mankind that any dead language has been resurrected. No one speaks Ammorite, Hittite, etc. These languages have died. But Hebrew is still alive and vibrant. Zeph. 3:9

    3. A temple to be built and desecrated In 1996 there was a red Heifer born. This is very important for the ashes of a Red Heifer are necessary for temple purification. There is a funny story of a man in Minnesota (I think) who had a red heifer, and it was without blemish. Rabbis came over to examine the animal and it would have passed inspection except the man put an ear tag in the animal’s ear. But now a red heifer has been born in Israel. Numbers  19:2

    4. One World Order and Religion. European Union. Daniel 7: 23-25, Isaiah 5, 1 Thes. 5. The byword today is tolerance. We are having tolerance crammed down our throats until we will have to accept anything. They want us to believe that Christians are intolerant. Christians do not have a problem with only homosexuality, but with any sexual crime. And it is not intolerance of the person, but of the sin. Soon it will be illegal to read certain passages in the Bible.

    5. Lack of Godliness in people.

    6. Earthquakes, Wars, Rumors of wars.

    7. Marked to buy or sell  Rev. 3:16

    8. Spread of the Gospel  Matthew 24:14 World evangelism.

In the last days Jerusalem will be a cup of trembling for the whole world.

The end is the beginning of the day of the Lord.

    Isaiah 17:7-14
    Hosea 6:1-3, 10-11
    Mark 4: 28-29
    John 4:35-38, 48
    Revelation 14:14-16

At last, the end of the conference. Now Bible studies to catch up on.

Have a Blessed Sunday, we are off to church.

    Heather

  • Thank you so much for your prayers for Jim and our journey. We had a safe trip and are now back home. I am catching up on emails, then plan to go and visit your sites to see what I have missed. And I have missed you all. Needless to say, the computer is very in demand for the next few days as all catch up on what they missed.

I was reading a devotional that I subscribe to, and found something that struck home for me. I will include the devotional below, but what hit home is the concept of divine appointments. And the writer goes on about how it is no accident that … it is no accident that… and that Ruth is put in the proper position to receive the blessings.

I had a rhema moment when the thought crossed my mind that maybe my past was no accident either, and that maybe God gave me those experiences so that  I would be the kind of person I am today.

I have to think on this some more, but I am torn by the above thought. Surely there could have been a less painful way to become who I am is one side of the coin, and the other side of the coin is maybe those experiences I have had will be helpful to others. Who knows.

Jim had a friend tape the Bible studies, and I plan to write out more of them asap. But there is a lot to do before I have that freedom to sit and write.

Please have a blessed day today.

Here is the devotional and the link if you want to subscribe:

    DIVINE APPOINTMENTS — Ruth 2:3

So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.

“As it turned out…”  If you’re in any way familiar with the way the Lord works, you’ll know that it was no accident that Ruth married her first husband.  It was no accident that he died.  It was no accident that Ruth had the kind of character she did so that she would return to Bethlehem with Naomi.  It was no accident that she was the kind of person to take the initiative in difficult situations.  And it was definitely no accident that she “found herself” gleaning in the fields owned by Boaz.  God guided her footsteps every moment, making sure not only that she ended up in the right place at the right time, but that she had grown into the type of person she needed to be in order to fulfill God’s purpose for her.  God made Ruth and Boaz for each other, and in His divine wisdom He made sure to get them together.  And when you think about it, getting those two together was virtually impossible by human standards.  By all rights, they should never have met, much less married.  But if God was capable of creating the universe, it’s an easy matter for Him to arrange a divine appointment, no matter how remote the possibility looks to you and me.

About 14 years ago, I became friends with a woman when she took a job as a secretary in my office.  She and her husband had been traveling across country to Dallas to look for work, but they ended up stranded in the city where I lived without enough money to repair their car.  She and I remained friends, even though I moved to Houston about a year after we met.  Several years later, the Lord allowed me to lead that woman to Him.  Her car broke down because she had a divine appointment to meet me.  I was working in a job that I hated because I had a divine appointment with her.  Until that night in her living room, I had never thought about God arranging for us to meet.  Now I know He did.

I can look back over my life and see so many times that I met someone at exactly the time God wanted us to meet…. the man who led me to Christ was on a four-hour layover between flights and “found himself” at an antique automobile auction.  He later told me he had no idea why he felt compelled to go into that building until he ran into me.  It was then he knew that the Spirit had urged him to be at the most important divine appointment of my life!  And there is also the man who is now my husband.  Looking back, we both know that our meeting was planned by God.  All we had to do was show up for our divine appointment, even though neither of us suspected what God had in mind for us that day.

In everything that happens in your life, remember that there are no accidents.  God has a purpose and a plan… Be open to His divine appointments – and make sure you show up!

  • Well, we are still surviving camp, one day at a time (for me at least).
We went on a tour of Camp Hero, a secret WWII site where they were
protecting our coast under the guise of a fishing village, with
batteries, but all buildings were sealed, we could only look at the
outside, but we did see a hawk and a dead turtle (the highlights).

The kids have been body surfing, swimming, and visiting the beach
several times. Fortunately no rain, but that may not hold. We are
wondering if the thunderstorms will reach us.

Please keep Jim in prayer, because he sprained his ankle, and is
suffering, but being a man, sigh, refuses to do what is best for him,
namely keeping his foot up and resting.

I miss you all, and hope to get back online soon, we are leaving Friday. It seems that with three kids two are happy one is not.

I am using this time to catch up on some Bible studies that I want to finish, Will share when I get back.

My daughter wants to spend a bit of time IMing on our few minutes on line, so I am going to give her a turn.

Just so you know, we are in a tent, and roughing it, it is only
thegeneral store that has any computers at all. I miss you, and can’t
wait for my own bed, bath, etc. Soon, Soon, Soon, I hope.

    Please keep us in prayer.

    Lots of love,
    Heather

  • Guess what!!!!! The campground now has internet, but I can’t use it all the time. But we are here at C3 – Hither Hills State Park. near Montauk. Tent is sent up, and we are settling in, at least we did not have to set up in the rain. If you live near Montauk, come say hi.

    Have a great week.

    Heather

  • Can’t sleep. The boys are back from Boy Scout camp. I am trying to get three loads of laundry done before we leave tomorrow. I have to put the second load into the dryer, then get the third washed before going to sleep.

I remembered something I wanted to share with you. A phenomenal website, one that literally saved my life when I was hurting.

    http://net-burst.net/search.htm

This will give you a listing of the site’s entries. The writer of most of the entries is Grantley Morris, and he truly is blessed by God.

When I first discovered this site I was looking for entries on incest, and these are intense entries, but helped a lot. They also take prayer requests very seriously, and often respond.

Hope you enjoy the site, it is really hours of reading.

    Heather

  • Thanks for the book suggestions. Well we are almost packed. Pray for travelling mercies, and I will miss you. We will be back, maybe with pictures.

    Heather

  • Procrastination. I am so good at it that I am a PRO at procrastination. Well, the good news is that I met my goal and some. I lost 2.4 pounds this week (probably some from last week) and I am now 21.4 pounds lighter than when I started at the end of April. It is a good feeling, but I am now undergoing a challenge, two in reality. I am getting close to the time when last I backed off from Weight Watchers. And next week I will be on vacation, so it will be a challenge.

Just so you know, we are going camping from Friday to Friday, so I will not be on the computer for this week. Please do not worry if you do not hear from me or I don’t update.

While I am gone I am going to ask you a favor. Besides the Bible, what are your favorite books, and why. I am looking to add to my pile of books to read.

I plan to do Bible studies on vacation and picked up Mitchner’s The Source to read for fiction.

Tomorrow I have to take the Pro out of procrastination and begin packing. We have put it off till the last minute. I guess that lets you know how excited I am about camping. Now if the campgrounds had roomservice, a remote control and a king sized bed and air conditioning I could rough it more excitedly. Unfortunately we are talking tent and cots. The good news is it is at Hither Hills State Park, which is on the beach at Montauk. That is good.

Take care of yourselves. I will try to write some or check in tomorrow, but methinks I will be packing. Sigh.

    Heather

  • Thank you for your prayers. Today we were in the midst of massive lightning and thunder storm. In fact lightning blew out our electricity, smashed a tree so that pieces were scattered in our driveway, and it was scary. It lasted most of the night and we were without electricity (even our generator did not kick in) from about 4 until 9. We were afraid to turn on the computer, for I was on the computer when the surprise bolt of lightning struck out our electricty. Thankfully this computer still works, and Jim did not lose all his work.

Thanks for praying, keep praying because I am still not in great shape. Will try to write more tomorrow, but have to let Jim inform his boss that we are back online.

    Heather

  • I am sorry for not posting the last of the Prophesy conference. My two sons are now at Boy Scout camp for a week. I have to somehow whip my house in shape for tomorrow, and it is a disaster.

It just dawned on me how depressed I have been these past few weeks. I am not in great shape and everything seems to be slipping out from under me. I could use your prayers.

    Heather

  • Finally, I get a few minutes on the computer!!!!!!

This is notes from the last day of the prophesy conference, then I will update on the Bible studies.

Events that benchmarked the moral decline of our country.

    free sex
    drug usage
voice of anarchy (no one has the right to tell me what to do)

Sometimes the value of the one is more important than the value of the group. Now the input of the group is valued more than one person. We are going to have to make a decision as to whether the group is more valuable than the one. (an example would be the group of Israelites that spoke out against Jesus – the one)

In the 1960′s everything was thrown up in the air.

The 1963-64 had the Bible removed from the educational system., they took out the Bible and the reading of the word.

In the index of social health, the year after the abortion decision, our health has deteriorated.

Premarital Sex 1963 is when it began to spike, and from there it skyrocketed.

Violent Crime 1960-64 violence began to spike.

    Violent Crime spiked.

Before 1963, SAT scores had to be very high to get into college, since then colleges have significantly dropped their standards.

Sexually Transmitted diseases . In the 60′s one out of four girls had some kind of sexually transmitted disease before graduation, now 40% have a sexually transmitted disease.

There is a price to pay for the kind of freedom we now have. Freedom without responsibility leads to chaos.

And now the diseases that we battled back then are mutating, and there are more, that are harder to cure.

Leviticus 18: 24-28 Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statues and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abomination, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you (for all these abominations the men of the land have done who were before you, and thus the land is defiled, lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.

What we do to the Earth and to our bodies (which is the temple of God) irresponsibly will have ramifications. Sexually transmitted diseases is one ramification of unbridled lust, that could last a lifetime. Many of the diseases are incurable.

Today there is another major problem in those 60 or older living in nursing homes, the highest number of sexually transmitted disease among the residents.

Pastor Don showed a chart about how different people viewed what was morally acceptable behavior. It was based on a survey of 1024 adults. and the groups were the Mosaics (18-19 year olds) Busters (20-38 years old) Boomers and Elders. This is a study done by Barna

This is the percent of those who felt that the behavior was acceptable.

    Gambling -    Mosaics 75% Busters 67%  Boomers 60%  Elders 51%

    living with
    opposite sex    “          75%     “      72%       “         60%     “      41%

    Abortion          ”          55%     ”       48%      “          46%            36%

    sex without
    planning to
    marry with
    opposite sex    “          54%    “          56%     “          40%            24%

    pornography     “         50%    “          48%     “          38%            23%

    profanity           “         60%     “          49%     “         30%            20%

    getting drunk     “          50%     “          48%     “         33%           15%

    sex with someone
    of same sex      “           40%     “           41%     ”        32%           14%

    non prescription
    drug use           “           20%      “           22%    “         16%         12%

What is scary is another Barna study that asked the question whether or not the Resurrection is a historical event.

This is the percentage of people who DO NOT believe it is a historical event

    Lutherans 13%
    Presbyterians 30%
    Am. Baptist 33%
    Episcopal 35%
    Methodists 51%

How can we expect in the last days to have a moral code passed down from generation to generation with such deterioration, and a rampant denial of the Biblical truths?

Pastor Don then spent some time going through a list of how many qumran manuscripts of the books of the Old Testament are available to compare with modern translations. There are significantly more manuscripts of the Bible than any other historical document, and of the manuscripts, when compared to present day texts, there are only 17 small errors of punctuation.

Pastor Don pointed out that there are many views as to when the Rapture will take place.

There is the Pre Tribulation rapture. This occurs after the Church age and before the 7 years of Tribulation prophesied in Revelation.

There is the Post Tribulation rapture, this occurs after the 7 year tribulation and before the Millineal reign.

And then there is the Mid-tribulation rapture, that occurs 3 1/2 years after the 7 year tribulation period occurs.

The word rapture does not appear as such in the Bible, but there are references that speak about the rapture.

Pastor Don said, the reality is, whether or not you believe in the rapture, God will do what He plans to do no matter what you believe. (Gravity is still in effect even if you don’t believe in gravity.)

Here are some of the scriptures that speak of the rapture and the second coming of Christ if you want to search them out.

    John 14: 1-3        Romans 8: 19     1 Cor. 1:7-8   1 Cor. 15:51-53

    1 Cor. 16:22    Phil. 3:20-21   Phil. 4:5    Col 3:12 1 Thes 1:10

    1 Thes 2:19    1 Thes 4:13-18   1 Thes 5:9   1 THes 5:23

    2 Thes 2:1    2 Thes 2:3  1 Tim 8:14    2 Tim. 4:1   Heb 9:28

James 5:7-9   Jude 22 Revelation 2:15, Revelation 3:10, and the whole book of Revelation.

    Daniel 2:44-45;  7:9-14; 12:1-3
    Zecheriah 12:10; 14:1-5
    Matt. 13:41; 24:15-31; 26:64
    Mark 13:14-27; 14:52
    Luke 21:25-28
    Acts 1:9-11; 3:19-21
    1 Thes 3:13
    2 Thes 1:6-10; 2:8
    1 Peter 3:1-14
    Jude 14-15
    Rev. 1:7
    Rev. 19:11-20; chapters 6, 22, 7, 12, and 20

For us we can perceive of the rapture being an extra blessing.

The end days are about judgments. There are three types of judgments, the seals, the trumpets and the bowls.

The devil is not stupid. He hides the information about what is happening in plain sight. One example is that over many liqueur stores is the word “spirits”.

Pastor Don also pointed out some facts about the dollar bill that were covered previously, but added one new point. That on old Bills the eagle was surrounded by a glory cloud from God. In the new bills, clouds obscure the glory that surrounds the eagle.

One of the symbols of the new European Union is a woman riding a dragon (sounds a lot like a beast to us).

Belgium and France voted to reject the EU constitution. Blair and others know believe that the EU is necessary. Blair is taking over the EU temporarily until the constitution can be passed.

The EU has decided that their military has to be bigger, bolder, tougher to challenge the power of the US. Now in the news we hear about the Coalition, G7, GAT, and G8, Nato is history.

There is a mega computer, the world’s largest computer to keep data on everyone on the planet. It’s name is BEAST

    B-Brussels
    E-Electronic
    A-Accounting
    S-Surveillance
    T-Terminal

There are now 14 computerized terminals in the system.

I have to stop here, but will finish the last day of the prophesy conference asap, we are almost done with my notes.
