Chain Interview Thingie
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Leave me a comment saying, ‘Interview me’.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Only respond if you are willing to answer ANY question that is asked of you
4. Update your blog (or leave them in my comments section for those without a blog) with the answers to the questions.
5. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
6. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Tina (http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=HeavyRevvy) gave me the following questions.
Here’s your interview questions:
1. What is the strangest job you’ve held?
Two come to mind. During my “hippie” days I worked in a head shop that sold posters and other hippie paraphernalia. I started out there rolling posters for 2 cents a poster, but did it so quickly that I ended up earning more than minimum wage, so they gave me a “promotion” at minimum wage. I also spent a summer stripping wood in a house in St. Louis. It was a very caustic sort of job, but fun.
2. What are your spiritual gifts? I am still rather new to Christianity, so I am not certain what gifts are going to manifest in my life. I know that I have a calling to work with children and do so. Pastor Don says that I will be a good teacher, and he has prayed over my hands for healing. I still sort of feel like a sponge, soaking up lots of stuff. I feel that God and I are working things out, and I kind of stray away from some of the spiritual gifts until I can make sure that they are not connected to the occult roots that I once had. I used to be a psychic, so am careful about what I speak over a person, making sure it comes from God, and not from things from my past. But Pastor Don has said that I will be a secret weapon, and one of the realms I will be working in is helping break people free from the occult. And he has also told me that Xanga is like a ministry for me. He has approved of all that I have shared on Xanga of his Bible teachings, and loves reading your comments. But right now, I think God is just doing a work in me to help me sort out all of the things that still need sorting out. My biggest goal is to be obedient to God, to the best of my ability.
3. How many states have you visited? 13 states: Missouri, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, California, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia I am assuming that you mean actually stayed and toured or spent time there, not just drive through.
4. What nicknames have you gone by in your life? The only nick name I have had is Heather Dawn. I picked this name after I decided to live and not die, when I was very suicidal. Heather is a plant, growing alive and living, and Dawn is a rebirth, a reawakening, a coming anew. It still fits in my Christian life, way better than my legal name of Shirley (I was named after Shirley Temple, and I do not sing, dance, and am not a cute, little thing.)
5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? My kids will be grown, hopefully I will be a grandma. I would love to be involved in ministry, and might like to go to college and take some actual Bible courses and learn much. I have a fear of teaching in error, and do not want to be held accountable for any error in teaching by God.
Thanks for asking these questions, it was fun to answer. I like surveys like this because they are smaller and have more content. The ones with millions of questions I can’t deal with.
Heather

I enjoyed your anwsers. Praying God will reveal your gifts to you and where He wants you to use them. Prayers for your husbands healing also. blessings lala
Very good answers! I enjoy learning more about you. And I love the nickname.
I got my pop-up comment box from http://www.enetation.co.uk/, but didn’t follow their directions to the letter. I got the code, created my link, and just use the same link over and over without ever actually putting the code into my site. I just add the link to the bottom of every post. If I ever get any real traffic, then I may have to look into being more specific for each post, but for now it works that I just paste comments into the xanga post the comment is relevant to.
Classes would be wonderful for you … but don’t think college classes would keep a person from making theological errors. Look at all the secular Bible “scholars” out there. From the amount of press they get, you would think they outnumber Believing scholars. I think even they sometimes read things differently than they are actually written in the Bible because of the influence of millennia of Christian tradition. You will not err for the most part because you love God and His word; no class can ever teach you that.
Hah! I never officially put the code into my site (should I have?
) I think I did have it in my custom header at first just to create the url for the comment window. So I think either in your custom header (which would mean you’d have to make one) or maybe it would work in your webstats? I think Anna would be better to ask about this; she seems to know something about html. It could quite possibly be put into the “edit html” in her post. I just don’t know.
I loved your answers. That was neat. So you are a fast poster roller huh? Hidden talents abound! hehe
You can interview me if you would like.
Hey! That was really cool! I love learning new stuff about you! I totally respect your respect for the Word and teaching it. Lots of people don’t realize how they will have to answer for every word that comes out of their mouth and don’t think of the repercussions down the road of something that they should not have said. I’ve always been a “Peter”, speak first, think later. But I’m learning more and more each day… Teaching teenagers was probably the best place I ever could’ve started teaching cause wow, they will set you straight if they think you’re off and most of the ones I was teaching were “lifers” (been in church their whole life). I just made sure to “do my homework” as my dad would say and pray, pray, pray!!!!
Thank you so much for your word for me!!! I had thought of posting that lil ditty on my site but was afraid of what people might say…
Thanks for sharing. I guess always assumed (NEVER assume), you were always religious. It was interesting to learn it’s a new part of your life. That is very cool that you want to work woth kids. Kids are great (and always teach you something).
Hi!
Thank you for sharing that, you say you are new at Christianity, but looks as if you no longer feeding off milk (spiritualy speaking) I think you have long since grasduated to table food ass you continue to mature in your walk. Praise God!
Well, this looks like it could be fun, yes, I’m requesting an interview.
Hugs,
Maria

I will pray that you “find” your spitual gift and use it to His glory! BUT, I believe you already do…your xanga is a gift to me and many others!
Interesting….great way to get to know people. You may interview me if you like…and don’t worry, God will reveal the gifts He has given to you!
Heather great answers…….indeed!
TY FOR YOUR PRAYERS and ENCOURAGEMENT. YOU my friend KNOW where I am coming from and my children ..emotionally.
AND I know of all you can relate some. PRAISE GOD FOR SOME THAT CAN. amen
LOVE TO YOU and GOD BLESS YOU my friend!
MAY YOU DAY BE FILLED WITH HIS GLORY!
hugs
I used to have such a fear of teaching in error. It pushed me to study harder. I didn’t want to say anything that would cause someone else to stumble. I think that is healthy.
As long as it doesn’t stop us from ever teaching.
Heather
I would LOVE to be interviewed by you! Ask me whatever five questions you want. (Am I DOING THIS RIGHT? Lol.)
Chet
wow, so your real name is shirley…interesting.
Interview me! hehe.
And yes, I am still seeing a therapist. Just rather infrequently. Ah well… life goes on. Things are looking up again. Starting to see the bright side on my own.
Thanks for being so sweet.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Finally on summer break though, so I get to respond more often!
That was fascinating. I am praying God will lead you with your gifts and talents. It isn’t surprising the enemy was aware of what you had been blessed with and tried to get you to use them for him. Now you aware in a way you wouldn’t have been and will be even stronger in using your gifts for God’s glory.
